MSU fans calling for boycott of Outback restaurants
This is just too good not to post.
Just sent a complaint to @outbackbowl and @Outback that I will never eat at an Outback again. The food is worse every year and they showed they are want branding lies over quality. I encourage @MSU_Football and Spartans to #boycottoutback. East Lansing Outback should be empty.

Michigan did not beat a team with a winning record. I am a Michigan resident who will not only not watch the game but I will not eat at the restaurant. #boycottoutback

@outbackbowl Way to select an undeserving team in #UofM who
— KLou (@kimmerlou77) December 3, 2017
1. Is UNRANKED 2. Has a worse record than #MSU 3. Was beaten by MSU.
It’s a great reminder you only care about $$ and a reminder I will never step foot in an Outback. Hope your game day ratings tank. #boycottOutback
MSU is ranked 16 and U of M isn’t even ranked. And MSU neat UM - so what’s your point?? #BoycottOutback
— Cheryl (@cheriheinz) December 3, 2017
Good job picking two unranked teams for your bowl game #outbackbowl #scUM #BoycottOutback
— JoJo (@JoLieby) December 3, 2017
#BoycottOutback. Outback, i won't be back
— Tom (@williamsellman) December 4, 2017
Bring back merit-based bowl game selection. And also #BoycottOutback
— The Sheriff (@LaserRocketArm) December 4, 2017
#FootballinParadise can go f@#k itself. Total fraud taking a team that has not beat a ranked team or a team with a winning record. #boycottoutback @outbackbowl
— Matthew Wigent (@mwigent) December 3, 2017
The @bigten is a joke...Delany's driven this conference into mediocrity. Doesn't matter how you play...what's next, playing the BIG basketball tourney a week early just to get into NYC? Oh yeah, they've already done that #smh - #BoycottOutback
— CollegeFootballFan (@big10fbfan) December 3, 2017
#FootballinParadise I will not watch the game. I will never eat in an Outback restaurant. The food is garbage and outback showed it is all about flash over quality. The steaks are shoe leather. #boycottoutback

I was hoping we would play Stanford in the Hyper Bole on 12/30.

This fact check proved the gist of my point.

Haha jeez man it's an exaggeration. You sound like my assistant high school baseball coach correcting how many strikeouts we had.

Disaster averted.

No matter what they do, no matter how many times they may beat us,they will always be second class citizens compared to Michigan.
Nothing they do will ever change that.
December 4th, 2017 at 4:38 PM ^
And they perpetuate it themselves.

These MSU fans are right-- Outback should not have disrespected their main clientele like that.

Probably the scene outside of the Outback Steak House in east landfill....
December 3rd, 2017 at 7:53 PM ^
Thought outback was too upscale for msu fans anyway. They could, however, but a big dent in steak and shakes profits if they were to boycott them.
December 3rd, 2017 at 7:54 PM ^
Where will they go for fancy eatin’?
December 3rd, 2017 at 7:55 PM ^
That seems a bit extreme! It’s certainly easy for outback to find other workers, yet the MSU fans are going to have a tough time getting another job.
December 3rd, 2017 at 7:56 PM ^
"I pity the fool." They just cannot step into the light and act like a legitimate fanbase or even program (Dantonio's smug comments and the players whining on Twitter).
Sadly, it will never get any better for them.
December 3rd, 2017 at 8:41 PM ^
We should show recruits all those angry tweets. “At MSU you can expect the bowls to pass you over. No one wants them.”
December 3rd, 2017 at 7:57 PM ^
I always wondered what sort of person would eat at an Outback Steakhouse. I guess the type who are MSU fans makes sense.
December 3rd, 2017 at 8:01 PM ^
I have been several times. Wife and kids like it, there is nothing wrong with it. It is no $80 slab of meat in a snooty Chicago or NYC steakhouse but it is fine.
December 3rd, 2017 at 8:30 PM ^
Is hardly a ringing endorsement. As an industry lifer here in Chicago I wouldn’t call the steakhouses here snooty. Maybe steakhouse staff is jaded knowing the majority of the patrons are going to be tourists or from the suburbs. With so many Michelin starred restaurants why on earth go to a steakhouse in the first place#tourist
December 3rd, 2017 at 8:33 PM ^
My trips to Chicago steakhouses were always on somebody's corporate dime. I assume I'm not unusual.
December 4th, 2017 at 5:18 AM ^
It's not like having a nice piece of Kobe or Wagyu but sometimes when you're traveling in parts of the country like East Lansing (because you have to) a place like Outback is probably a safer bet.
December 3rd, 2017 at 8:33 PM ^
once told me what to order there. It's not on the menu anymore. Still, they have good sides, decent food unless you're expecting a place with steakhouse in the name to have great steaks.
December 3rd, 2017 at 7:57 PM ^
An SEC also-ran in central Florida again? No thanks. I would swap opponent, location, and game time (I personally love that 9pm Thursday slot) in a heartbeat. Both are meaningless games. Their righteous indignation is misplaced.
December 4th, 2017 at 5:22 AM ^
Sorry to disappoint you, but I think maybe the players might want to play in a post-season bowl game.
Is the swag bag still allowed by the NCAA. What's the difference between the swag of the Outback Bowl vs the Holiday Bowl?
December 3rd, 2017 at 7:58 PM ^
They're probably more upset than OSU fans right now, which is pretty remarkable.
December 3rd, 2017 at 8:27 PM ^
On 11 warriors this morning right after the selection of Alabama, and you’re right. Most were surprisingly rational, and even the ones who weren’t were commented toward understanding. Iowa happens. We know.
December 3rd, 2017 at 7:59 PM ^
I’m going to #boycottoutback. Oh wait, I won’t because I’m a rational adult who doesn’t care about something so incredibly trivial

AD allows a sexual predator to use their department to have his way with victims no problem BUT HOW DARE OUTBACK WANT MICHIGAN OVER MSU
December 3rd, 2017 at 8:02 PM ^
That we started calling them "Little Brother" is our fault.
That it still sticks a decade later is their fault.
December 3rd, 2017 at 8:01 PM ^
Yeah...not sure why they’re upset. They play another ranked opponent. Win that game and they’re top-10 to finish out this year.
Who cares when/where you play.
December 3rd, 2017 at 8:09 PM ^
They have no purpose if they aren't mad about something related to Michigan. Considering preseason expectations and beating Michigan, one would think they would be happy about the year they had. Nope, an imaginary slight got them all worked up.
December 3rd, 2017 at 8:04 PM ^
Hey, it’s Franklin

Brilliant move by the Sparty fans. If each and every Sparty fan boycotted Outback it could literally cost them hundreds of dollars in lost business.
I guess they don’t have a lot of faith in a fan base that thinks that college football started in 2007.
