MSU to announce Gholston suspension tomorrow

Submitted by gebe659 on

Apparently Mark Dantonio will hold a press conference tomorrow and will announce the suspension of William Gholson (number of games unknown). This per my friend in the athletic department.

Confirmation of at least the press conference "addressing Gholston situation" on twitter:

The fact that they're not announcing it until three days after the game suggests that this was not Dantonio's decision.  Good for the Big Ten.

When is Michigan announcing the press conference to discuss the blatant facemask on Persa? Or Lewan's egregious shoving of Gholston into the dirt? Never?

Guess we know who the real Thug U is in this state. No surprise; it's the same people that hero worship the Fraud Five.

On positive note, with Game Day being in EL the MSU thuggery should get ample national coverage on Saturday morning.  Even if he just gets one series, the game day crew will be forced to talk about it.

I see the press conference playing out something like this:

REPORTER: Coach Dantonio, a moment ago you told us that you ordered Coach Narduzzi to tell his men, to tell William Gholston, that you have a zero tolerance policy and Denard wasn't to be touched after the whistle.

DANTONIO: That's right.

REPORTER: And Coach Narduzzi was clear on what you wanted?

DANTONIO: Crystal.

REPORTER: And when Coach Narduzzi spoke to the defense, any chance they ignored him?

DANTONIO: No. We follow orders son.  We follow orders or people get Denarded.

REPORTER: Then why did Denard end up with his head facing backwards? DID YOU ORDER THE FACEMASK?!?!!

drive blocking someone out of a play, hard hits, hustle, ball-hawking...those are examples of intensity. Punching and ripping at face masks, slamming people down 3 seconds after it became illegal to hit...those aren't examples of intensity. Those are what Pat Narduzzi calls in his own words: 60 mins of unneccesary roughness.

I am not enamored with MSU. I am enamored with people who attempted to injure the players on "my team." It makes me mad because...Get this...I am enamored with MICHIGAN and don't like seeing people TAKE CHEAP SHOTS AT THE PLAYERS ON THE TEAM I LOVE, READ ABOUT, WATCH ON TV, AND PAY GOOD MONEY TO.

Go back and read through all my posts. I don't randomly talk about Michigan State. Believe it or not, though, sometimes the topic of Michigan State comes up considering, oh, i dunno...WE JUST PLAYED THEM.

Also, go back and look back..It's pretty difficult to say things that set me off on a message board. You succeeded. Therefore, I don't even care if I get negged for this, but you can go ahead and piss off, because I care about things that happen to Michigan players.

You think playing dirty and tough are one and the same. Playing with intensity and toughness is something all teams should strive for. Your team did play with that and deserved to win. The thuggery and intent to do serious bodily harm is a sign of weakness and lack of discipline to control oneself. Get a clue.
