Mouton is an absolute beast

He's by far our best defender and its great to see him playing to his potential after a down year last year.  Can you imagine this D if we still had Woolfolk and Warren along with Dorsey in the secondary?

In other news, Ezeh just isn't very good.  Bad angles, bad reads, no quickness.  Do we really not have anyone better?

That is a title that i believe was bestowed on a gentleman named Death Roh.

If you wanted to argue he is the best LB, i might be inclined to agree with you.

yay for the ufr which will end this debate in approx 3 days

lets not blindly proclaim martin as our best defensive player just because of the hype. hes coming off a 1 tackle game. granted hes getting double teamed on every play, but i dont think he has actually earned the title yet. i mean, i can get double teamed and not break free as good as any nose tackle in the country (kidding). id have to watch the game over to see how he did in terms of holding his ground but he really wasnt getting much pressure. i think people need to be a bit more objective in their evaluation of the kid.

i think roh played well. he broke a double team like it was nothing on that tfl. but i feel like there were a number of occasions where he lost track of where Crist was. he would fight his way into the backfield, and not realize that the qb was right behind him or just to his outside. and by the time he spun around, Crist would be releasing the ball.

it definitly seemed like mouton played well. he was in on a lot of plays, although that might just be a result of his position. he did have that one bad missed tackle on allen.

it seemed like both corners played well. no terrible breaks in coverage from what i recall. most of the completions were errors on the part of our linebackers and safeties. gordon and kovacs were obviously having some issues.

He is definitely improved.  This speaks well for GERG's coaching.  Seamed like he made a tone of big hits.

As for Obi, he did not make a similar jump, but I don't see him as a liability - just not a "beast."

He starts his zone drop, sees the handoff and starts heading back to the LOS, and then recognizes the flea-flicker and hauls ass back into the zone again and makes the pick. Not a great throw by the QB there, but still, that was impressive. A lot of heroes in today's game, and Jonas was definitely one of them.

Mouton has been our best defensive player, I'm glad to see he is playing to his potential. With Ezeh I normally try not to bad mouth college players, but good lord he was bad today. But a win is a win and I am proud of the way this team fought

Because of our 3 man defensive front, Ezeh is getting guards in his face on every run play.  From what I saw he did a good job of working through the blocks and at least causing the back to have to change direction.  It's tough to play linebacker when you have offensive lineman getting free to you every play, just saying.

Mouton has definitely stepped it up this season.  It's nice to see him not only coming up and laying people out in the run game, but also dropping back into pass coverage.  His early interception really gave us a lot of momentum that was needed after the way the game started.  Congrats Jonas, great job and keep up the hard work.
