  • Western has a senior...but Joe Flacco's bro is behind him waiting for next year
  • Eastern looks like a RS Jr at QB w/ a Jr backup
  • Cooper Rush is a RS Sr. at CMU...there's an opportunity!
  • Toledo has two RS Jr.'s
  • GVSU doesn't have a Sr. QB on it's roster

FWIW - Borges is still the OC and QB Coach at San Jose St. and they also have a senior...there's ANOTHER opportunity!

Or it's just he likes the weather, the school, can get on the field, and he is comfortable in the system.

Learning a new system isn't for everyone...if you're telling me I can go to San Jose for grad school, play football in a system I already know, pssssh...that may be a no brainer if my other options are MAC schools.

dragon.   The guy is armed with a cannon.   He might have a shot at the League if he can find a program that will let him throw for 3,000+ yards next year.

Throwing hard doesn't make him an NFL QB. There are plenty of guys who can throw a football 80 yards.

Throwing for 3,000 in college doesn't make him an NFL QB either.

If he was an NFL QB...I'm sorry, Harbaugh would've played him and we wouldn't have been watching John O'Korn throw balls at the feel of Amara Darboh for 3.5 hours.

If he was an NFL QB...he probably would've earned a starting spot over Denard, Devin, Jake OR Wilton. He had chances.

I wish the kid all the best, but if he goes somewhere and become an NFL QB, we should be looking at Harbaugh with some questions. I don't think that's the case. This isn't the RB position...completely different situation.

Michigan in 2015 or 2016 isn't going to just let an NFL QB be the 3rd string guy who only gets in to run a toss sweep and act as a lead blocker.

You have to let the hype go and just wish the kid well, he gave it his all, he was a solid teammate...he did more for Michigan football than 99% of this board. But all of that can be true without him secretly being a pro prospect cause he throws hard/far.

You dug a big hole a long time ago Yost, you don't need to do it again. Which is the greater distance, Shane from being a potential NFL player of any sort, or the average 6th round pick QB from being Tom Brady?

What was there about Griese that led anyone to believe he'd ever be a starter or any sort of a qb before he led us to the undefeated NC season and was the Rose Bowl MVP?

Why didn't the great Urban Meyer know what Play No School could do before he did it in the games once he got the chance?

And I remember how excited I was for him to lead us to greatness. Sad it didn't work out, but I'm glad he got his degree and I hope he finds success elsewhere. And I will always be mad that he was allowed to play while obviously concussed. That's one of my least favorite Michigan memories of all time.

Good for him, I was always a big Morris fan. Dude was a class act and great teammate through everything. I hope he finally gets a chance to start somewhere wish him the best. Thank you Mr. Morris and Go Blue

He's the living embodiment of the Hoke era. Much promise at the start followed by stagnation and eventually a fall. None of this, essentially, was on Morris. He lost a year of development in HS to mono, then  he came in and was forced into a role he shouldn't have been in (#2 QB) without a guy capable of developing him because the staff failed in recruitment. And then there was Minnesota. Feel very badly for him, but as folks have said, grateful that he was able to get his degree. Wish him nothing but the best.

A casualty of the Hoke failure and a victim of absolute shit luck. Hard to say his career would have played out way differently had he not contracted mono and missed his senior season. Sometimes life gives you shit lemons and you could try your absolute hardest but you're destined to make shitonade.

Sad to see Shane go but I hope he goes somewhere that he will have a chance to be a starting QB.

Unfortuniate that when most people think of his name and Michigan Football in the same sentance it will remind people of one of the more embarassing moments in program history.

for four years Shane.  Congratulations on staying and getting your degree.  Will be rooting for you next year and always.   Michigan man for life.  Good luck.

Best of luck to him. A lot of our offensive players from the Hoke years got the short end of the stick when it came to coaching and development. The defense at least had Mattison to guide them.

Wish him the best.

His genuine excitement and pride in playing for Michigan, along with his efforts to bring in other players during a very dark time for our program should be remembered and appreciated.

How petty and childish for people to criticize him, now that he's making a difficult decision to leave his chosen and beloved school for a chance to play.

This kid, as far as I've ever heard, accepted his role and contribution with grace and class.

He soldiered through his whole concussion debacle without bad-mouthing anyone (when he would have been perfectly justified to speak his mind).

He's graduating from the University of Michigan, after honoring the school and program for four years.

Thanks for giving your all to U of M, Shane.  Congratulations on graduating, and best of luck with your new school and team!

To demonstrate his talents, start at QB and perform well. Who knows about the NFL?  Look at Rawls.  Stranger things have happened.

I graduated from De La Salle fifty years (no shit 50 years) prior to Shane and hoped for his best here.  Can you imagine a starting QB from that Christian Brothers school in Detroit (my time) and Warren (his time)? DLS never delivered the number of scholarship players as some of the other Detroit area Catholic high schools and Shane was my big hope for DLS.

It didn't happen and he was placed in some weird (terrible?) situations.....starting in the bowl game as a true freshman without any game experience......then the Iowa game (again without any game experience that year) where he was targeted, concussed and the officials didn't give a shit about that.  No comment about Brady.

Shane never complained.  Rather, he continued to support his competitors and teammates.  Others passed him for starting positions and the depth chart but he never complained.  Instead, he was always a true, supportive teamate and Michigan Man.

I never understood the visceral posts on this board about his capabilities and still don't.  But.........whatever if that floats your boat.

Go Shane!

Go Blue!
