Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller WR Monty Madaris has committed to#MichiganState

There had been some speculation that we might be going for Madaris, but this honestly doesn't seem too unexpected.  Good get for Sparty, they have a fairly solid WR class coming in this year.

And the rough few days of recruiting news rolls on.  Hopefully we still can get a commit or two tonight.

I would say Kalis giving the cold shoulder to Meyer when he called counts in this bucket.

How about Pipkens earning a fifth star? Does that count?

How about both Bolden and Richardson tearing it up in th
post-season? Does that work for you?

How about our recruits from Michigan being named to 7 of the top 8 slots in the Det News rankings? Good enough?

Relax people

I don't understand why this is a big deal..He has not been mentioned on this site in a WHILE..good luck to him in all games except the one against us each year.

We've lost out on two 50/50 chances and Madaris going to State isn't a big deal at all. Everybody's acting very un-Dude right now. We have a great class coming in, just relax!

We have a damn good class and have pulled in some great names.  We're 0 for 2 in the last week, but the rest of the year has been absolutely stellar.  Seriously man.  Don't get down on him for losing 2 recruits.  It's going to happen, even to the best coaches.

"I wasn't getting down.  I'm aware we have a good class"
And yet you say our coach fails in the clutch.

The same coach who just led us to an 11-2 season, beating Ohio and winning a BCS bowl.
Seriously bro.  It's two commits.  Stop whining.

do not talk about my coach, our coach, that way. lets keep in mind he swayed kalis away from ohio, pip from going to essentially any SEC school he wanted, magnuson from USC, and is bringing in arguably the best group of linebackers in a single class this year. and he's got commits from 2 solid recruits for 2013, one of which is already being hailed as a savior before ever putting on a Michigan uniform.

we are not always going to get every recruit we want. even the likes of meyer and saban can testify to that. but we will be just fine with hoke at the helm. i think team 132 is a testament to that.

Really liked Monty as a WR prospect. Wanted him in our class. Sucks to see him go to MSU. But at the same time, it's good to keep Midwest talent in the B1G. Isn't the end of the world. We've got two solid WR committed and I'm sure the staff is in on some talented guys for 2013

Here is the truth, Truth. I like the two WRs we have in this class just as much as Madaris. Short of DGB,Diggs or maybe even Powe, there wasn't really a must have WR in this year's class. We got 2 big outside guys which is exactly what we needed. Next class should see more of a run at the skill positions.

justin blackmon was a highly under-recruited kid, 91st best wr if i remember correctly. now he's been the best wr in the country for 2 years running, probably a top 5 pick. like you, i'm more than confident in darboh and chesson once they start filling out their frames. hopefully we'll get a more speedy guy next year, though.

They are getting some good wide recievers but Madaris doesn't really worry me.  He strikes me as a possession guy which is easy enough to find in the college game (YAC guys etc).  Great vertical route runners are hard to find.  Burbridge is the guy that is going to TORTURE us for the next four years.  It is going to be brutal going against that guy - he is Manningham redux.  Great hands, runs amazing routes for a high school player - I recognize grades were why we didn't take him and I appreciate Hoke being a high caliber person like that but damn if we shouldn't have thought about making an exception.  Because Burbridge is a difference maker...

Considering the staff basically dropped him for a couple of months until Stonum was removed from the team, this doesn't really surprise me.  Good for him, but I'm not sweating it.

Outside of the snake oil years, we always start strong with some solid committments, fill up most of our class, then lose out on the 5*, 4* talent in January/February.  Lloyd was not a great closer and Brady is struggling a bit right now.  Things may change before NSD, but this is a pattern that you'll see when schools load up early on recruits.  Penn State does the same thing and it seems like that was the one school Lloyd was able to snake oil (Breaston + Henne).

LOL I love the Sparty delusion.  They seem to thnk they have Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin locked up over there.  "Easily the best WR group in the Big Ten."  LOL
