Off topic, not labeled as such, concocting a ridiculous hypothetical with a "what do you think?" question isn't really board material.

Requested by a board member, and I found it to be a reasonable request.

???? The offending comments must have been added very late in the thread's life... I didn't see a single one that was remotely as mean-spirited as plenty of stuff that stays on the site in other threads. Inconsistency, thy name is legion.

I know, and the first thing I thought of are the spam comments you catch every once and a while. We're just trying to avoid thread pollution. There is a limit to characters in signature lines, so at least there's that.

That, and mods technically have the ability to edit your signature lines. That way, if it becomes a problem, we can edit it AND dock points accordingly.

I posted this recently:

every week we get dozens of post on the line and implications of the line or the weather and the effects of such weather at the game.

They should make a sticky "line" thread and a sticky "weather" thread to go with the sticky "where can I get tickets"  thread.

What is your thoughts? Dost thou broach this thought to King Brian?

I'm going to leave that up to Brian. I'm not sure it's so necessary. Gambling lines have really caught on this year, but it's not something that's really bothering me yet. There's other things that could be reigned in first, like "OMG [insert media or faux media source here] WROTE SOMETHING SAYING MICHIGAN ISN'T OMG FUCKING AWESOME".

No OT. You could at least have kept it along the lines of the "Cato June Sighting" last week. Cato is also playing the UFL for the same team as Clarett.  Michigan alumni are welcome. Washouts from other Big Ten schools, not so much.

General policy with all rumors is to nix them until something more solid comes up. We did the same thing with all the "OMG TATE FORCIER TO TRANSFER" threads. Sure, we're not going to have massive meltdowns for players from Nebraska, but that doesn't mean rumors should be amplified.

If we get something other than smoke and the crap that is Bleacher Report, then I'd be more interested.

Can we please get the constant Harbaugh topics off the board?  If not, then I'm sure it's cool to post a weekly Les Miles thread, and a weekly Saban thread (he's proven that he's willing to coach in Michigan!), and a weekly Bobby Bowden thread (he's available!).  It's ridiculous.

Maybe I'm wrong here but my gut tells me that linking to a scene from Lord of the Rings isn't enough on its own to be a board topic.

Are we Rohan? Seems to make sense -- great at charges on horseback (until we come up against an army of behemoth oliphants) but anytime we go on defense it's inevitable, slow murderdeathblood.
