MNF: Dolphins vs. Jets will be huge Michigan Reunion

Submitted by jokenjin on
With Braylon Edwards being traded to the Jets, the next Monday Night Football game between the Jets and the Dolphins will be an amazing reunion of recent Michigan graduates. The Jets have Braylon Edwards and David Harris (boy do I miss him and I will admit I SEVERELY underrated him while he was here) while the Dolphins have Jake Long and Chad Henne. Has there been a game between teams that had so many Michigan alums as such prominent starters? Last year's SuperBowl comes pretty close. It will be weird to see David Harris possibly sack Chad Henne or having Long pick up a blitz from Harris or something.

Technically, I guess you can include last weeks Browns/Bengals game since Leon Hall and Braylon were starters. Trent is also on the Bengals (not sure how much he played, if any).

Chad might have a tough one on his hands monday night. You can bet your ass Rex Ryan's going to send everything he's got at him, after noting the 6 sacks he took last week. just a thought, but Dan Henning for Miami really needs to look at modifying their passing game to utilize chad's strengths. while he's no Pennington as far as accuracy goes, his arm strength alone merits a game plan beyond screens and short passes. As much shit as Ted Ginn has gotten down there, and as overrated as he may be, he oughta be able to burn some DB's deep with his speed. Chad sure as heck can get him the ball. that could be a frightening combination, if allowed to build chemistry.

You forgot about Jay Feely. Also, the: Cardinals Bengals Lions Colts Patriots Jets all have 3 Michigan players The best reunion would be the Cardinals and Colts, as all 6 players would have played together (I think). The one problem is that I believe Hart isn't on the roster right now.

For my money, it would be the Tuck Rule Game -- in which Charles Woodson either did or did not cause Tom Brady to fumble. Given my man crush for both of them, I don't think I was ever so ambivalent about the outcome of a single call. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuck_rule_game "The name 'Tuck rule game' originates from the controversial game-changing play. In the play, Raiders' cornerback Charles Woodson sacked Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady, which in turn, seemingly caused a fumble that was eventually recovered by Raiders' linebacker Greg Biekert. Officials reviewed the play, and determined that Brady's arm was moving forward, thus making it an incomplete pass."

I'm crazy excited to see Chad Henne play. Because I live in Michigan, I wasn't able to watch him play last week, and up until now, I've only been able to see him in preseason games on NFL network. In my opinion, the Dolphins should've been starting Henne since the beginning of last season. Sitting on the bench is not going to help him. I've only ever seen it make QB's worse. Look how much improvement Stafford's shown in the last 3 games. After a full year of not playing, it's only going to be good for Henne to get out there and shake off the rust. I mean, he was a four year starter for the Wolverines. He knows how to play the game. The only way he's gonna get better is if he gets out there and logs some serious minutes with Miami's offense in actual game situations. With his physical talents and now the experience he's gonna get, I see great things in Henne's future.
