And only two PROGRAMS (UK, UCLA) have won more national championships. And every Duke natty (5) has come under Krzyzewski. IU and UNC also have 5 championships, but under multiple coaches.

Harbaugh kicks ass everywhere though he is made for Michigan. Dude will win anywhere he goes but he ain't going anywhere now that he is home.

Harbaugh's kind of motivation works better in college.  Intense coaches usually start getting "tuned out" by players their fourth or fifth year.  In college, the players are recycled every four or five.

Harbaugh is exactly where he belongs.  I hope he retires at Michigan.

It's true he might be better in the college game, but he had a hell of a run in the pros.  Coach K never really tried to coach professionals outside of the Olympics; Harbaugh being able to turn SF into an elite team is kinda incredible.

JH leads them to a superbowl and several NFC championships, but he

-worked us to hard

-He was crazy

-He wore on us.

I remember Boone getting arrested(right before his NFL draft) for being hammered and jumping/smashing cars.  He is calling someone else crazy?????

regarding Boone calling Jim "his big brother, life a father figure" & more to the press all of last year in defense of him. Boone is a joke. Jim gets fired b/c York disliked him personally & York found an assistant to turn Benedict Arnold, everyone on the team worth a damn LOVED the man, Boone himself defends him, Jim goes to Michigan, half the 49er team defects immediately & suddenly Boone thinks Jim's the asshole. He may be an asshole but he gave that guy a career! Douche was undrafted for a reason but Jim made him a much better player, took him to 3 NFC title games & a Super Bowl. Instead of gratitude he goes all buckeye and accuses him of "being too demanding". Apparently getting to but not winning a Super Bowl good enough for a professional player making millions. I know I'd be happy to be a 49er fan or QB right now..../s

Greenberg also kind of insinuated that he thinks that Harbaugh is the best coach in ALL of football, and that he is in the exact right place for his style.  That's about as high of praise as one could hope to get from an ESPN headliner, let alone a random person.  I don't think you can superlate (?) that statement.

I love Harbaugh, but it might be a tad much to compare him to one of the all time greats in college basketball. Coach K has 5 national titles. Harbaugh has none, despite his great accomplishments.

If he could claim just one national title when he's here, that'd be more than enough.

While Harbaugh is an excellent fit for UM, he has one of the best winning percentages in the NFL.  The bottom line is he is a great coach no matter what level he is at.

The part I like about him is that I think he has more passion for the school then a lot of the players and it's showing everyday and that's contagious. I would love to be the fly on the wall for the speech he gives to the team before taking the field against the smug SOB MEYER and the Buckeyes. Let's just hope we don't get Harbaughed in a couple years when the new team in LA comes calling for him. Just my 2 cents. I just hope he turns it around quickly as my son is 12 years old and has no idea how good Michigan used to be, we talk but it's not the same thing Ya know.

Also a tidbit of info that is interesting of note. My buddy works at a huge sports agency here in Manhattan Beach and as I've said before he's pretty locked in to info. He mentioned that Carroll if they had won the SB or wins another that he definitely will be coming back to college to coach if he doesn't retire. He also said that MEYER was locked up like that because there were 2-3 heavy hitting NFL teams w serious inquiry's about his services this year. Some with there NFL coaches still coaching and MEYER thought about it. He mentioned the Cardinals by name as the one team that's was intrigued by him. Don't shoot the messenger

I agree with Greenberg.... except that Bill Bellichick is THE best HC in football, bar none.  Harbaugh is right up there but no one is better than Bill.

got fed up with the NFL.  I agree he is better suited as a college coach. Though, I think he is very capable of being a great NFL coach and would eventually win a superbowl. I think he took the Michigan job because he enjoys the college game better. This is a great thing for us, since I see Harbaugh sticking around here for many years and several NC! He has the potential to be our best coach ever, better than Bo and Yost! Only time will tell.
