Good for Charles. Great job to pick up everyone else
Teske was much better on Happ in 2nd.
Suck it Davidson!

Teske was much better on Happ in 2nd.
I'll go further: Teske was better than Happ from midway thru the first half. Teske's only foul in the first half should NOT have been called; Happ, OTOH, was getting away with murder in half#1 and still only had two in the box score at the half. If the refs called it fairly, he would have been sitting much much earlier than he did when benched early in the 2nd half after his 3rd called foul.
If one numbskull early in the game thread had his way, Teske would have "sat his ass on the bench". I'm wondering what northernmich thinks now?

With our defense, we only need two guys going to win most games.

Huge, HUGE win to stay at arm’s length from MSU, Purdue and Wisconsin in the standings. Matthews saved this team’s bacon today. One hell of a game, my friend.
Now, get to relax and watch what should be a great game between Duke and UVa.

Holy shit Charles please play like that the rest of the year. He was on fiiire which isn’t sustainable but please keep that aggressiveness and playmaking. Put the game away and didn’t hit a 3 entire second half.
Matthews and teske were incredible in the second half.

Thank God for Matthews and Teske. 26 of the 30 2nd-half points scored when the game was still in doubt were scored by them. Nobody else could do anything on offense and they carried the team.
Matthews best half in his career.

Matthews and Teske were the men today. Awesome game. @Penn st will a tough one Tuesday.

Hmmm pretty sure I read on the first page of this thread you calling for teske to be benched and that he didn't have it today. Maybe be a little less reactive and let the game play out instead of braying out nonsense over a slow start.
February 9th, 2019 at 2:30 PM ^
Hmmmm pretty sure I said later in the thread I admitted I was wrong about Teske and gave him props. Maybe go read all my posts before you come here and try to be a smart ass.
February 9th, 2019 at 3:02 PM ^
Doesn't refute the fact that you're a reactionary goon who's always posting negative bullshit because you're a child who can't control their emotions or compose a rational thought during a game.
February 9th, 2019 at 3:15 PM ^
Really easy for you to come here after the fact and tell me I was a “reactionary goon”. Believe it or not people have different opinions about things throughout a game, they can change, letting your guy get four straight easy buckets then missing a bunny lay up isn’t getting it done. And guess what, the head coach pulled him right after and let him sit for 2 minutes. He came back in and had a helluva game.

You could also just wait a bit longer to see how things are gonna play out a bit more before claiming someone doesn't have it. It's the worst way to be a fan and it clogs the thread with bullshit. It also saves you from looking like a jackass later.

.
MGoPoster "heyyoujesson" is 100% correct in his assessment of you and your posts. A brief glance at your posting history shows plenty of proof of the garbage we see from you regularly in game threads, "northernmich".

If Matthews could do that every game he’d be a lottery pick.
February 9th, 2019 at 3:25 PM ^
There’s still time for him to get there. McGary wasn’t really on anyone’s draft board around this time of the 2012-13 season, and by the end of the tournament, people were saying he was a lock to be a lottery pick if he left.
Matthews’ strengths are attacking the rim and those mid range jump shots. Hopefully Beilein will find ways to arrange his gameplans more around those areas when the ball is in Matthews’ hands.
If Matthews can continue playing like that down the stretch, there’s no reason he can’t at least work his way into the first round.

Love how Matthews wasn’t afraid to take it to the hoop, but was able to hit those mid range fade-aways when the drive wasn’t there, very smart playing

Mathews play today reminds me of his play during our tournament run last season

Only four points for Happ in the 2nd half. Great D by Teske after struggling early.

Happ didn't happen after the break..
No Happy Madison this time...........

Don’t love that the team went 0-10 from 3 in the 2nd half, Iggy struggled all game, and Poole couldn’t make a shot to save his life in the 2nd half, but the team showed great grit and not enough can be said about how Teske and Matthews played in the 2nd half on both ends. Both were perfect from 2 in the 2nd half.

Ham you just know they’re going to go ham on somebody.

Takeaways:
1. Proud of Matthews. I am as hard on him as anyone on this board. It’s probably because you see his potential. Give him kudos, him and Teske difference today.
2. Speaking of Mathews, important JB sees today and realizes the receipe for success with Matthews. Need more post ups from him. That’s his game! No 3’s but attacking rim and mid range. He has a nice 15 ft. Shot. Need to play off his strengths more. We really need him for a magical run. Iggy and Poole are inconsistent, and try to do too much sometimes when the ball is in their hands a lot.
3. I love the top 6 in this rotation. If they are allowed to play and not sit huge minutes due to fouls, I love our chances. Any of the 6 can beat you any given night. Not always pretty, but those 6 and JB coaching I like our chances any game.
4. Oh, love the ally hoop at end. Just because I hate Wisconsin. It was a nice finishing touch!

One more comment to get us off the number of the beast. ;-)
