Michigan vs Northwestern baseball thread
Second baseman Ako Thomas is 2-for-3 in only his second start after coming back from a hand injury in mid-April. He has also handled 5 batted balls in the field without an error. His return is a key to Michigan's success over the remainder of the season.
Ryan Nutof gets a surprising (to me) start on the mound, and did reasonably well. 6 hits, 0 walks and 10 strikeouts in 6.1 innings. Mac Lozer now on in relief.
Runner on second with 1 out in the top of the 7th. 4-3 Michigan.
Looking at the stats for these guys, and in 46 combined appearances over 51 innings, they have not allowed an earned run this year. That's just crazy! Go Blue!
Combining the 2 so far, you get: 53 innings pitched, 25 hits & 18 walks allowed, 64 strikeouts, 4-0 W-L record with 13 saves, and 0 earned runs.
I'm guessing you see Jackson Lamb in the 9th here unless Michigan gets a few more.
4-3 Michigan, bottom of the 8th.
Game is on BTN for those not aware
What about those who are aware but not totally aware?
NU starts off the inning with a single to right.
Wild pitch moves the tying runner to second. Still no outs.
Single moves runner to 3rd. First and Third with no outs.
team..Its why Its hard for me to get excited about BB..They CHOKE ...they have a reputation for late season choking and this year looks no different
Well, there you go. Northwestern 6, Michigan 4.
Michigan will need to beat host Indiana tomorrow at 10 am in order to stay alive. I'm assuming Oliver Jaskie will be on the hill in that one.
welp can go ahead and kiss hosting a regional goodbye
