Michigan vs. Northwestern a 3:30 Kickoff

Submitted by Moe on

Hopefully many Chicago alum/fans show up (like myself) for this late afternoon kick:

Michigan vs. Northwestern (Saturday, November 8) has been selected for a 3:30 p.m. kick on ESPN2.

I'll be there.  Got a friend (and fellow U-M alum) in Chicago so we figured it's a good excuse to get together.  Michigan football might be a dumpster fire right now, but it's OUR dumpster fire.

Strangely enough, I am beginning to find that as my kids start getting a little older and the early end of Saturday becomes filled with more and more activity, the 3:30 PM starts have begun to work a little better for me if I have to watch the game at home. Still, part of me likes the noon start, especially on early and mid-autumn days.

My wife and I are flying up from Orlando for the game, and our parents are taking the train in from Ann Arbor.  It will be a great weekend in Chicago regardless of the onfield results.  I'm glad to hear that it's a 3:30 start.  More time to tailgate.  Are there any bars near the stadium for pregame festivities?

Was planning on posting a thread on this next week, but wanted to let you know that I will once again be hosting a fundraiser for the UM-NU game at the Bar Louie in Evanston. Through my philantrhopic venture, Cause & Affect, this will be our third time hosting a tailgate at Bar Louie when UM is in town.

Doors will open at 11:00 AM and, despite this being a tough season, the event will be a blast. We've had around 200+ people pack the bar the last two fundraisers with 99% of the crowd in Maize & Blue. Former players have stopped by in the past as well (Ryan Van Bergen & David Molk last year!). With the game bound to be on the chilly side, it's a great way to hang out with M fans and stay out of the cold!

Feel free to message me with any questions and/or if you need tickets (we also have a big seating block with tickets still available) at [email protected].

  • Time: 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM
  • Location: Bar Louie | 1520 Sherman Ave | Evanston
  • Community Cause: Proceeds from the optional at-the-door donations will support two amazing local, educational causes -- from pre-elementary to college. We will once again award another senior at Muchin College Prep headed to a B1G university in the fall of 2015, as well as provide to support a family in need and help their child attend VOCEL (early headstart programming)
