I drove by this morning also and tried to take a pic, but I was asking for a car accident. But it looked like they will really stand out well as I was driving south on main street. Can't Wait!

So beautiful.  I can't wait to see them lighting up the stadium.  There will probably be reflected brightness off of the boxes also...I can't wait to walk into the stadium in the fall!

a few of my friends got a house on Division, right next to Elbel Field.  I spent a decent amount of time there chilling, playing FIFA 10, and in the summer, enjoying being practically the only people in the city of Ann Arbor.  North Campus in particular is a ghost town in the summer time.

I'm planning to get a ticket for Purdue when they go on sale tomorrow.  I'm also planning to get one for Ohio State, if they're still available at 8:30 AM.

My uncle graduated '78 and basically never left (well he went as far as Dearborn). Suffice it to say he has a few friends around. To get to the point, unless his friends come through with Nebraska tickets I'll be at Purdue.

And by still, I was going more for no leaves to blow around, there were no clouds that night, that sort of thing. Plus it was really late so no cars to speak of either.

Were they working over the weekend?  I drove by Friday evening and didn't notice the solid section.

I hope they go up quickly.  It is hard to justify the amount of time I spend sitting at my desk watching the damned old scoreboard come down.

where it's clear someone needs to show Lewan how to wear a collared shirt - iron that up fella

Thanks for posting the still. Dumb question: what is the black square in the center? Wasn't sure if that was part of the new thing or still a virtual comparison to the last scoreboard

I can't wait for this to be done so that the Big House will be even bigger. I am also looking forward to checking out google maps when all is said and done because you will probably be able to see the scoreboards from there, that is if those deadbeats update it.

Looking at your avatar, I sure hope that they use the proper block M on the back of the new boards (and use the dark blue from the facade of the luxury boxes for the background color).  Or, better yet, it'd be perfect if they used the dark blue background, but instead of a block M...the art deco letters from the top of the old press box.  They'd look tiny, but that's ok.

Seems like a shame to hide the old signage inside of a concourse.  I'll keep my fingers crossed that they'll return to a position of prominence at some point.  Or, I'll be happy as well to see a simple block M...or, frankly, anything other than the "Michigan" line-M or a playlist for the day's Jock Jamz lineup.  My best guess is something nice and clean to match the simple look of the skybox facade.

I had the good fortune to be in Ann Arbor today to pick up some things for a fundraiser the Central Ohio AAUM is doing  (I live in columbus, ugh) and drove by Michigan Stadium, and well, it sort of took my breath away.  It was awesome, in the true sense of that word, meaning :  Extremely impressive or daunting; inspiring great admiration, apprehension, or fear.

While I was not afraid of Michigan Stadium, it was, really, awesome.

Also, for all of you Wolverines living in exile, I stopped by MDen to pick up my "Hail" t-shirt and notice that they had a shirt that said "I Feel HoMe" with the M being a Block M (it's not on the website).  I was really close to picking it up, but thought that others not residing in even Michigan might think it was cool.

Anyways, I digress.  Thanks for the pics since the stadium cam was not working for most of last week.

Can't wait for 9/3 baby.

I've been by the stadium several times with my camera and have taken a number of photos, but they just don't capture how freaking ginormous these signs are in person. UM fans who don't live close enough to see the progress in person are going to poop their pants when they show up for the first game.

Too see them, countdown is on.  (Not going to happen but..) Imagining an early completion for the BBQ, then hooking up NCAA '12 to the screens for the recruits, followed by several 'Hello...' posts

Remember how bland and generic The Big House looked a mere 5 years ago. Has an almost classic, throwback look now. Absolutely beautiful job the University did in totally reinventing it.

Wondering if anyone in A2 can answer a question...

It seems that the aerial photos (which are really nice) show some differences from the North scoreboard webcam (seen here).    The most recent aerial shots are from yesterday (and the webcam today looks the same as yesterday), so I'm wondering if the south scoreboard is being completed at the same time.  Anyone know the answer?

[and, yes, I'm clearly bored and eager for the season to start]
