Michigan Spring game will not be aired live on TV

And neither will Ohio State's.   Apparently, neither program would agree to move its air time, so BTN decided neither will air live.

Game kicks off 12:30 on April 13th.  Will be aired on BTN at 9:00 P.M.

The Wolverines’ spring game is slated to kick off at 12:30 p.m. on April 13, while the Buckeyes' game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start. The Big Ten Networked announced Thursday that neither program agreed to move its game, so neither will be aired live.

So, basically, we don't get to watch monotonous drills and/or a scrimmage where no one does anything of particular interest live?

They might actually be doing us a favor. More time in the springtime sunshine for everyone!

Not like you'll miss anything important a few hours later. And then one can go and come back home and watch it.

I went to every spring game from 1998 to 2007 and they got more and more boring every year. They stopped being actual games under Lloyd. Plus the weather was always cold, dark and miserable.

Even once they started airing on TV, I don't think I ever watched one all the way through. Players are rarely healthy enough to play and this place almost had a meltdown 2 years ago after how bad the players looked, only to go on and have an 11-2 season.

So what else could possibly be in front of the two most popular teams in the conference playing their most popular sports? It's not live basketball, so I'm at a loss.

I bet they saw a drop in attendance once it was broadcasted. They've had an advertiser the past few years, and I don't think the advertiser get's mentioned as the official sponsor of the game on the TV broadcast. No TV=higher attendance=more people see advertiser name logo all over Michigan Stadium. Also, if they charge a fee for entry, more money for whatever charity they decide on. MDen and Concessions probably benefit as well. I wonder if it will be on WWJ950 or live streamed on MGoBlue.com?
