I happened to be eating dinner last night at a diner that was showing ESPN on their surprisingly nice tv.  ESPN was showing softball with Texas and Oklahoma I believe.  It was annoying because the commentators constantly talked about other top ten teams, but never once mentioned Michigan.  They talked about the top conferences in general, which I understand, but when they basically go down the list of ranked teams and obviously skip us, I get annoyed.

dont understand the game of softball.  All it takes is to listen for 15 seconds and one can tell these people are clueless.  Especially those from ESPN.  Most talking heads on the BTN are barely ok when it comes to softball.

Not only are we great, we are the only team east of the Mississippi to win the NC.  I really dont care about those lame ass commentators.  They need to STFU.

beat Iowa earlier today.  Melloh almost threw a perfect game.  She gave up 1 hit.  This girl is the real deal.  I hate the Indiana coach though.  She is a premadonna, and a former Michigan pitcher in the late 80s.

She played with my aunt at Michigan. Kind of cool to see that she moved on to a coaching career. Never met her so I obviously don't have an opinion on her. For all I know she really could be a premadonna.

Like to catch them when they're on tv. Though neither this or the Wings are going so hot right now. Rally time!

I was typing two entries at once.  I meant to say 8 "pitches".  Speierman only pitched to 2 batters and I dont think she was comfortable at all.  She did not have "it" today.

I was just curious of what you think of Amy Knapp? She was a few years before me and graduated with my sister. Becky Marx graduated a couple years before me, so I try to follow Lakeshore girls as much as possible. I know Amy is still young, but I was just curious on what you expectations are for her. Thanks for any input.

is not the best player on the team, that is not a secret.  She is not an offensive threat nor is she lighting the defensive on fire.

Having said that, she has what many player do not have; and that is consistancy.  People have to remember, Stephanie Kirkpatrick is one of the best SS in the country.  SK is only a Junior this year and will likely get a red shirt this year.  She blew her knee out after only 10 games and Amy had so step up.

Amy did not miss a beat.  Typically when players are thrust into unlikey roles, it takes them a few games to settle in.  Not for Amy, she took the bull by the horns and hasnt looked back.  She is playing quietly as well.  She doesnt make flashy plays that make SportsCenter.  You wont see her going on a 10 for 12 terror.  What you will get out of Amy is a quiet, steady leadership and play that is needed.

We have enough starts on the team.  We dont need any more.  We need a steady-eddie.  Amy is the perfect player for the perfect time in her life.  Congrats to Amy for doing well in a difficult situation.
