Holy shit. People yesterday mentioned the delayed called strike by the umps in softball, in general. This ump today seems to take it up a level with her delay. Not a fan

Short hop. But we aren't doing a great job closing this inning. Blanchard still could have tagged the bag afterwards and guaranteed the double play. She knew she didn't catch it

Thanks for the updates everyone. I can't watch today and my phone won't do watch ESPN because of my provider. So keep the updates coming.

Sara gets a strikeout to end the 5th. Still up 2-1. Side note: Romero has two strikeouts today which is in characteristic for her. She does have the 2 RBI, but still rarely strikes out. Now 3-1. Blanchard with HR!!

and not having muh fun.  I spoke with her briefly after the game as we waited for the players to come out.  She said her knee was killing her and she was about to pull herself out.  If Cal won the first game, she would not have played in the second.

I felt bad for her because she played very well today but not good enough.  She was hobbling toward Schembechler Hall with her dad.  A good game by both teams.

I only ask that the best team wins.  I think this happened today.

Anyone else think this ump's strike-zone has been a little iffy? I dont think it has benefitted one side, but seems to be a moving zone to me.

Win!! But they have it a ride on the last out that would have won them the game. See you all next weekend (Thursday)

Umps gave Cal two free base runners in that inning (missed third strike that turned into a walk two pitches later and an incorrect ruling on a collision on the base paths), and we still get out of it unscathed!  That last out scared me, but thankfully we tracked it down on the warning track.  Huge win, now let's root for the Ragin' Cajuns to down LSU!

That is a fair point, but I'm not too worried about ULL.  We've already beaten them once this season (3-1 on February 22nd) and looking at their schedule, they don't really have a lot of terribly impressive Ws in there.  A hot pitcher is always scary this time of year, but in a three-game set, I like our chances.  That said, I also like our chances against LSU also - we'll see how it plays out.
