MICHIGAN SOFTBALL: REGIONAL CHAMPS

Submitted by MGoSoftball on

The game is at 1pm on ESPN2.

This year has been really exciting for the underdogs. There have been many seeded teams that have lost games.

#1 Cali lost to Arkansas.  They play for the Regional Championship today.

#5 Florida lost to South Florida, in the final game.  Florida dismissed their 3 top players for a racial incident against a black teammate.  I applaud Coach Walton for doing the right thing here.  He knew his team would be weaker.  He could has kept this all quiet until the tournament was over but he didnt.  Too bad marky mark didnt do the same thing with Chris L. Rucker.  marky mark was in the hunt for a B1G Title and possible NC.  marky mark is a loser.

#7 Tennessee lost to Virginia Tech.  They play for the Regional Championship today.

#6 Texas lost to Northwestern.  They play for the Regional Championship today.

#8 Texas A&M lost to LSU.  They play for the Regional Championship today.

And the most shocking is #12 UCLA is OUT.  They lost to my sleeper pick Hofstra and SD State.  UCLA was playing at home too.  Yikes.  Hofstra and SDSU play for the Championship.

My other sleeper pick; La-Layafette is 2-0 and should win their Regional today.

BTW: #11 Oregon won their Regional last night.  Wonder why they played early?  They had BYU in their Regional and BYU does not play on Sundays.

MGoSoftball. I am not a future recruit - in fact, I used up my eligibilty so long ago that I am old enough to have a daughter who will hopefully be a part of Women's Lacrosse Team #2.

board.  We dont have very many softball "regulars".  As you can imagine, this board is heavily slanted to the men's sports.  However, we have held our own here and put a stake in the ground.  We dont get heckled too much anymore.

So your daughter is a freshman on LAX team #2?

that hurts like a son-za-biatch.  Many pitcher wear braces now-a-days.

This occurs when pitchers try too hard and play outside of their ability.

may re-enter the game once, in the same batting order.  A starter and her sub cannot be in the line up at the same time.  If a starter gets pulled twice, she is done.  If a starter re-enters, the sub is done.

Its complicated i know.

ouch. I feel for the Louisville pitcher. Thats what happens when you try to tough it out past your breaking point. yeah, I agree with mgosoftball. That louisville coach is a complete a hole.

I've enjoyed watching the adjustments between pitchers and batters in both of these games with Louisville. Yesterday I thought they made better use of the high strike zone, and when it lowered they used that, too. Today they adjusted to Wagner's lefty curve, and then she went to the outside fastball with them off the plate. I am glad they did not have to play two games today because they seem more comfortable with more pitchers than Hutch is.

Florida joins UCLA as a team that lost its own regional. However that coach made me gain a bit more respect for the Florida program overall after pulling those three players for uncool behavior. All right two more innings to work through let's go.

Someone needs to proof-read those motivational banners.

That's okay. On ESPN today the banner said that Texas would be eliminated with a lose. *shakes head*
