Michigan Ranking Question

Submitted by umbig11 on
Does anyone know when the last time Michigan went unranked wire-to-wire in the Top 25 (pre-season to final poll)? Was it the mid to late sixties? Thanks for the help. P. S. I think we were ranked in the pre-season poll during RR's 2008 season.

Yep, pretty certain we were ranked for the Utah game. I remember Richrod saying something - in reaction to being ranked - about how it must be the name that's garnering the respect or something.

How right he was

(Edit: We were #24 in the coaches poll to start the season)

Unranked in the AP preseason, ranked #24 in the Coaches Poll.

*Yeah, I'm good w/ quoting Wikipedia for this level of importance.  It's not like other linked internet sources are infallible.

The last time Michigan wasn't ranked at all in either poll was the 1967 season.

2014 will be next in line.

It's a bloody shame that Pollstalker is no longer around as that was a great site with some great history - week-to-week even - on this very thing. Does anyone know if there is a decent facsimile of this site in existence? It probably would have the precise answer to this question in its pages.
