Michigan PSU Quarterback QBR comparison

Submitted by Rdog on

McSorely's performance this year has been above average but not great with a Total QBR of 63.9 YTD.   O'Korn's average Total QBR rating is 52.4 for the season.

Overall, McSorely has been better every week than Michigan's QBs with the exception of Game 4 when Michigan played Purdue and PSU was at Iowa.

Versus the one shared opponent Indiana.  PSU was at home while Michigan was an away game       PSU had a TQBR of 54     MICH had a TQBR of 39.5

I think you can remove the "fairly". The oline made mistakes and were not perfect. But, when they identified their guy properly, which they did most of the time, they did well. I think all 5 will grade out pretty solidly.

They still have a ways to go. But it is not a sore point and they seem to be gelling and working as a team. I think if the young wr can do that and start helping the QB instead of making him look even worse, this offense will take a giant step forward.

To me it's not anything to do with their offense. Yes we have to contain them but Barkley had a monster game against Iowa (caveat that it was at iowa) and they still only scored 21 points. Against Pitt and Indiana (both not great teams but similar to us) they had 7 total turnovers between the two (4 for Indiana and 3 for Pitt) that gives penn state short fields and keeps the crowd into it. It really comes down to no turnovers by our offense and keeping the same level of play on special teams and defense. It will be close and I give us a chance to win if we do that (no matter what O'korn does). If we get Purdue O'Korn I actually expect to win.
