Glad I went last night and not tonight. Another terrible offensive performance

4-0
Lazy ass game against a terrible team. This is going to be one of the worst losses I've seen in my time watching Michigan hockey. Probably #1 or #2. F'ing A

The day the earth split open and swallowed 2014 and Michigan.

That's what I get for liking sports.

That was... UNACCEPTABLE
What a sorry ass performance against an awful Penn State team. This team is destined to be a 3 or 4 seed that will lose their first game of the tournament 2-0 in thoroughly uninspiring fashion. I've never seen a collection of NHL draft picks look like such an awful hockey team (except maybe Michigan 2012, Michigan 2011, etc.)
John Beilein develops players. Michigan hockey does not (except for Josh Blackburn)

If I had to bet on it, I would say that Michigan's blueline has turned the puck over at least 500 times on that halfboard chip pass this season. It's embarrassing. Even when they see a forward waiting in that spot by the blueline, they'll still make the pass.
The scary part is that I don't see it getting better, this season or next season. We lose Mac Bennett and Kevin Clare. Cutler Martin hasn't played in two months since he got hurt, and Christian Meike got assigned to by his USHL team because he's only 165.

Are they even looking? You'd think if they were looking and saw the wrong jersey, they wouldn't send the puck there. Maybe they're just blindly getting rid of the puck.
Seriously, how hard is it to take a quick look to see where people are before you move the puck?

We understand that it's hard to find a great coach in college hockey, and when you have a coach behind the bench for 30 years he can leave when he wants.

I'm currently in the "Red should probably retire sometime soon" crowd. There shouldn't be a "Fire Red" crowd (and I don't think there is). Center Ice is right, it's hard to get a good college hockey coach and I'd hate to be some spoiled fan that wishes for the grass on the other side of the fence and we end up worse off than where we are now
Having said that...it sure seems like the coaching is lacking right now. The only position that ever develops at Michigan anymore is goaltending and that has saved Red's behind several times in recent years. Everyone else seems like a guy. Rarely do guys leave significantly better than when they came in, and the forwards are just plain hard to watch sometimes with PDG, Boo, and Guptill never seeming to get any better.

It's not like he's pulling the Rick Comley and leaving the program in pieces for the next coach.
That being said, expect attrition after this year. Outgoing forwards are Luke Moffatt and Derek DeBlois. Incoming forwards are Dexter Dancs, Connor Murphy, Alex Talcott, Dylan Larkin and Tony Calderone. They're expecting a few guys to leave.

Leave to try their hand at the AHL/ECHL? Or just go elsewhere?

I don't see Guptill or Di Giuseppe making the jump to the NHL right away, but Chris Brown didn't either. A senior year from those two seems unlikely, and we will have the usual OHL departure.

Is this the hockey program's worst loss in the last decade? Ever?

The Bowling Green game last year was the worst. This one came close. Tonight had the look of a game where we didn't show up. BG had the look of packing it in for the season.

This was a road loss. While it sucks to be PSU's first conference win, maybe guys were overconfident from the big win Friday. BG punked us at home, and we were flirting with last place thereafter. Would have finished in last if FYS hadn't been worse.
