Michigan over MSU: 4-0 tonight in hockey

Tonight’s game vs MSU was a nice safe game. After a scoreless 1st period, Michigan score two in the second and 2 more in the third. Tony Calderone got the hat trick late on a nifty feed right in front of the state net.

Are pretty damn cool aren’t they. I enjoy watching them and their antics almost as much as I do the game itself. The atmosphere is second to none.

If Mel can get control of this series early, it’s a great sign. MSU hockey is no world beater, but post Anastos they can’t not be better.

I haven't watched MSU yet this year, so I don't really know if they're better. But they are only 1-7-1 in the conference so far. Let's not get too excited.

Of course, you're right and that's a very good point. I'd still lean toward losing to them the past couple years being a bad sign rather than beating them now being a great sign. For example, beating Rutgers in football is not a "great sign" for the football program; rather, losing to Rutgers was a bad sign.

the last few years. The hockey team would start a series with a nice win and then lay an egg the second night. Team needs to take a step forward and sweep a series like this. Let's hope for another strong performance and win tonight. Looking at their schedule they have a few weeks off after tonight so another win would be a nice way to go into a small break and get ready for the second half of the season.
