Michigan Opens Up +10 at Wisconsin

The point spread released by vegas is not how much their experts think a team will win by. Initial point spread by vegas is set at a number their experts think they can get equal money bet on both sides from. The house can't lose if a game has equal amount of money on both sides. So if you do your homework, you can find advantages in many areas, especially small conferences bc vegas spends most of its resources paying attention to the power 5.
The initial line for the game next weekend is Wisconsin -10. Now the line has dropped to -7.5 bc there has been a lot of money wagered on Michigan forcing oddsmakers to lower the spread in hopes of getting some bets on the badgers. Harbaugh has only lost badly twice in his Michigan career. Every other game has Brenda used by 7 points or less. So as soon as I noticed the line came out at +10, I bought a half point and bet Michigan. If the line drops below 6 I may put something small on Wisconsin and try to hit both sides.
My initial bet may be stupid though bc I did so without knowing the injury status of our key defensive players. I took a little bit of a chance bc this season is going very well for me so I said fuck it.

... "so I said fuck it"
November 13th, 2017 at 9:11 AM ^
Tell me more about Brenda. I might like to be pen pals with her.
November 12th, 2017 at 7:47 PM ^
Not bad considering Vegas usually hands the home team 7 before discussing the line
November 12th, 2017 at 8:27 PM ^
Ballpark for home field advantage is around 3pts
November 12th, 2017 at 9:18 PM ^
Correct. Though I've found through my years as a degenerate gambler that some teams home field advantage are worth up to 6-7 points depending on the team and the year. There are many circumstances that go into home field, and it fascinates me.
November 12th, 2017 at 11:49 PM ^
Me too. There are definitely outliers, but the general rule is 3.
November 12th, 2017 at 9:00 PM ^
Lol That's the most uninformed gambling post I've seen in awhile, and I don't even gamble
November 12th, 2017 at 7:54 PM ^
Just thank god we aren't favored. We got the ingrediants for it, now we gotta figure out how in the world Dantonio hypes up his team for these underdog-in-big-game wins.
November 12th, 2017 at 9:14 PM ^
Yes I agree. If Harbaugh could steal one of Dantonios coaching traits I would want it to be how he motivates his team in an underdog role. It's time for some of our young guys to break out and help us knock off the badgers.
November 12th, 2017 at 11:42 PM ^
Because it worked so well for them against OSU.
/s
In all seriousness, I do hope that Harbaugh and company bring their intensity out of the gates next weekend.
November 12th, 2017 at 7:57 PM ^
Our D is designed for the this, especially with the emergence of Solomon. I’m expecting a lot of different formations on offense in order to create match up problems. I think Peters` connects on a couple of deep balls early...call me a homer, but Wisconsin doesn’t concern me at all.

Michigan owns Wisconsin. Never fear the Badger!
"The wolverine and the badger are furry and stocky mammals from the Mustelidae (Weasel) family. They are nocturnal species found in wintry districts. The wolverine, also known as the skunk bear, devil bear, carcajou, and glutton, live in the isolated North, particularly in Alaska, Siberia, Scandinavia, Russia, Baltic countries, Northern regions of Canada, China, and Mongolia. On the other hand, the badger, also referred to as the brock, resides in North America, Ireland, Great Britain, Southern Scandinavia, Eastern Japan, and China. Although both species are well geared to survive extremely cold climates, some physical variations between the two are apparent.
The wolverine, being the largest terrestrial mustelid, is more muscular and can weigh up to 80 pounds with a length of up to 36 inches. It can resemble a bear. Its fur is thicker, oilier, and more highly hydrophobic, making it resistant to water and frost. The badger, however, is hardly half the wolverine’s mass at 15-30 pounds, with a length of up to 30 inches. A badger’s fur is less resilient to frost, but this animal has devised an underground habitat called a sett to increase its survival from the cold."
November 12th, 2017 at 8:34 PM ^
We are twice as big, with hydroscopic fur for fucks sake.
November 12th, 2017 at 8:47 PM ^
hydrophobic = water resistant!!
November 12th, 2017 at 8:22 PM ^
Then you are not paying attention
November 12th, 2017 at 8:33 PM ^
I mean, seriously, you're a homer.
November 12th, 2017 at 8:18 PM ^
In 36 games at Michigan, Harbaugh has only lost big twice. Every other loss has been within 7.
November 12th, 2017 at 8:36 PM ^
That's a good point. Something I always seem to forget
November 12th, 2017 at 8:18 PM ^
$10 tickets from a smashed UW undergrad at the Big Ten Bar. No one back for a UW with 1 min left and a punt off a Badger leg.
It's time for UM to get a lucky bounce and win a close road game.
November 12th, 2017 at 8:21 PM ^
With these two D’s and QB’s over under is 20. 14-6 wins. I just don’t know who wins
November 12th, 2017 at 8:30 PM ^
Line's already moved to +7.5
November 12th, 2017 at 8:37 PM ^
We'll have to be +2 in turnovers, and Peters will have to throw for more than 200 yards. But both are doable.
November 12th, 2017 at 9:20 PM ^
I don’t care what you told Trump this week. You’ve done it before; all for a good cause.
November 12th, 2017 at 9:28 PM ^
I'm saving all my good Delany kompromat for next week
November 12th, 2017 at 8:38 PM ^
10 is low. Michigan will be lucky to only lose by 14.
November 12th, 2017 at 9:19 PM ^
Should be easy my money since the lie is only +7.5 right now.
November 12th, 2017 at 8:42 PM ^
Here's to hoping Michigan can finally get a win against a team with a winning record!
November 12th, 2017 at 8:47 PM ^
How is it that Michigan is the only top team in the division to face Wisconsin? No penn st no mich st and no buckeyes for Wisconsin.
November 13th, 2017 at 8:09 AM ^
That’s why they are undefeated
November 12th, 2017 at 8:55 PM ^
We win ....
M 24 W 17
We have a better defense. If we can avoid turnovers (not more than 1) and can have a couple bounces go our way I truly believe we can win this one. I honestly think we are the better team. Ohio St game is iffy (and I know we ALL want(ed) to win that one) but I do feel we can beat this Wisconsin team.
Regardless, I am glad our future QB is getting much needed real game time experience to carry him into next year. Lots of injuries but we have been doing alright. I hope a few get healthy before this game if possible to help us out.
November 12th, 2017 at 9:02 PM ^
10 seems like a fair opener but this will trend downward thru the week.
November 12th, 2017 at 9:21 PM ^
Should put enough of a chip on our shoulder to come out with the upset.
GO BLUE!!
November 12th, 2017 at 9:23 PM ^
Game to win. I think we do not match up well with OSU and have less of a chance to win that game than this one.
If we don’t win this, I feel we will be three years into the JJ era without pulling off a significant upset.
November 12th, 2017 at 9:54 PM ^
Going 0-2 in the last stretch and 0-4 against teams with a pulse this year will be crippling for this program.
It's pathetic that schools like MSU can field freshman WRs and we can't.
Need an actual WR coach.
November 12th, 2017 at 10:09 PM ^
What makes one say we need a new coach at any position? Last year our receivers on the outside and the tight end all went pro. So please, enlighten me on how you’re pre-qualified to Judge our WR corps and why you feel we need a coach at that position. I’d love to hear your qualifications and how and why you just threw this ();: out against our staff.
November 12th, 2017 at 10:14 PM ^
I have two eyeballs and look at the production from the unit. It's bad even by freshman standards. Sorry to burst your maize and blue bubble.
But you're right I'm not as qualified. I guess Dantonio just has a better coaching staff.
November 12th, 2017 at 10:34 PM ^
Lol
You must be one of those who think a football game is like going to war.
November 12th, 2017 at 11:27 PM ^
Football game is like making a pie?
November 12th, 2017 at 11:26 PM ^
Could you try to at least hide it, next time?
November 13th, 2017 at 1:58 AM ^
Nope. Actually went to U of M and bleed maize n blue 24/7. Just b/c I don't worship the altar of Harbaugh doesn't make me a troll.
Sorry.
This team has clear deficiencies.
November 13th, 2017 at 2:45 AM ^
Booom
November 13th, 2017 at 9:21 AM ^
You're neglecting one factor in the success of freshmen WRs.
Lewerke is the fifth-best QB in the conference, completing just a hair less than 60% for 2338 yds and 16 TDs.
Our three QBs have thrown for a combined 56% for 1652 yds and just 8 TDs.
This isn't to say our young WRs have been sparkling, but it helps to have a quarterback who can get them the damn ball.
November 13th, 2017 at 9:49 AM ^
The offense has 9 new starters and people expect the offense to be amazing this year. Granted I think Pep has done more harm than good with the passing game, but the fact that this team is 8-2 right now is a minor miracle.
November 13th, 2017 at 4:13 PM ^
bullshit...there is NO reason for us to have lost to MSU except coaching error. Calling for multiple passing plays in the rain when our run game was working was idiotic. And frankly, think of all the players MSU lost last year and the strides they made this year with less heralded players.
At some point, the coaches need to adapt to the players they have and we did NOT do that early in the season.
November 12th, 2017 at 10:43 PM ^
Which freshman receivers is MSU fielding? I thought they were Sophomores +
November 12th, 2017 at 10:56 PM ^
I️ think in cody white and hunter rison are true freshman. They have 447 and 223 yards respectively.
November 12th, 2017 at 11:07 PM ^
Fair - I think if Black hadn’t gotten injured, he would be having a very good year for us.
