Terrible idea. People will get hurt if that happens.

Didn't someone get hurt at the MSU/OSU game?
November 10th, 2014 at 9:26 PM ^
Someone probably got hurt at the Indiana - Penn State game.
Are college football night games among big rivals inherently "dangerous"? No.
They do it all the time in the mouth-breathing SEC and live to tell about it.

The average temperatures in late November are 10-13 degrees higher in Tuscaloosa than they are in Columbus. And about 10-20 degrees higher than they are in Ann Arbor. That makes a bit of a difference.

Temperature, yes. Danger, no.

Somehow people in Lambeau and Soldier field where they sell beer seem to be fine. There is no reason it can't happen here.
November 11th, 2014 at 12:07 AM ^
Sell beer now !!!!

The problem with OSU is it combines the southern passion for football with a northern hooligan mentality. It is the only sporting venue where I genuinely felt I needed to needed to watch my back - closely. Give those freaks a full day to get their drink on and yeah.... someone will get hurt.

Tan coat, gray sweater hat, khaki pants, black or white shoes. That's the color combo I go with from Friday night through whatever time I make it back across the border to Michigan.

I heard they are practicing at night and look great.

Let's have it at 1 am to avoid press attention.

As Bo Schembechler might say: "toe meets leather at 1:05 am. You guys can broadcast it if you want to."

nm
Didn't read the whole thing. Negged myself.
November 10th, 2014 at 8:37 PM ^
Play it at noon and get it over with. Gives me the rest of the day to enjoy some real football.
November 10th, 2014 at 8:40 PM ^
Both teams were really good. Only one is good now.
Noon kick.
November 10th, 2014 at 8:43 PM ^
If you mean the 2006 game, that was a 3:30 kickoff.
November 10th, 2014 at 8:46 PM ^
I thought for some reason it was a 6 PM kick...The amount of booze I consumed that night clouded my memory.
This would still be a terrible idea.
November 10th, 2014 at 9:09 PM ^
Title if I am not mistaken despite an ugly season.
On a side note, that 2005 OSU game pisses me off even more than the 2006 game with how we lost it.
November 10th, 2014 at 9:43 PM ^
That was the Lloyd Carr punt on the OSU 36 yardline game. We deserved to lose after that.

Though we lost, it was cool watching most of the game utl. But we got lucky with the weather. It was dry and I believe it was in the 40s.
November 10th, 2014 at 8:41 PM ^
both schools are well aware that Michigan + Ohio State + Booze All Day = Bad
November 10th, 2014 at 10:48 PM ^
Fully aware?

I think you mean PRETEND to be a coach. Also, gives him more time to work on the post game presser with - "WELL, kids had a good week of practice. WELL, kids did some good things out there. WELL, we need to coach them better. Well,...."
November 10th, 2014 at 8:43 PM ^
2006 game was at 3:30. I wouldn't mind playing them at 3:30 at the Big House next year.
I don't know why they would want to make this game a night game when Michigan sucks.

They can't get bonus points for beating us, though. At least they shouldn't. Even if you move the game to a night game, we are still GOD awful. We are a team that has to battle for our lives and STILL look like a clown show against the very bottom teams of the conference.
So OSU beats the #88 team in the country in prime time. Send them to the playoffs? I don't think so.
November 10th, 2014 at 9:45 PM ^
This is the perfect plan to get OSU into the playoff . . . . until we beat them.
November 10th, 2014 at 10:44 PM ^
to open a slot for them. Their SOS is inferior to all but Baylor and a one-loss ACC Champion. Style points wont do anything for OSU against the SEC, a one-loss TCU, or a one-loss PAC12 Champ.
The following all get in before a one-loss OSU:
• An SEC Champ from the West
• Even a two-loss Champ
• An SEC Champ from the East could cause chaos
• A one-loss PAC12 team
• Oregon: Colo, @OregSt, Pac12 South Rep(ASU?)
• ASU: @OregSt, WashSt, @Ariz, North Rep (ORE)
• A one-loss Big12 TCU
• TCU: @Kansas, @Tex, IowaSt
• Baylor: Not so sure about them
• BU played tougher top-end games
• OSU played tougher mid-to-low-end games
• Obviously, an undefeated FSU ACC Champ
• FSU: @Miami, BC, Fla, CCG Duke/GT
• A one-loss FSU? Hmmnn
• Similar SOS
• FSU Defending NC
• OSU gets in before a one-loss Duke

Please little baby Jesus in a tuxedo shirt say it ain't so....
November 10th, 2014 at 8:56 PM ^
Jokes.
Also, let's face it, OSU playing for a playoff bid, they put this game at night, pull out some goofy black uniformz, Adidas decides to get cute and puts us in something goofy to help us play for Hoke's job...
I don't even want to contemplate how awful this will be all around.
November 10th, 2014 at 9:26 PM ^
I'll off myself if we trot out there in black.

I think it would look really good. In my personal opinion, when I think of The Game I think of Archie in white running on bright green Michigan turf with Michigan in their home blues. I think of that era. Not the black and white era. I also love OSU's white uniforms 100x more than their red ones (because they wear white socks and accessories with them instead of black) so I'm biased toward wearing white on the road. But I think your color v. color idea would look great, it works for USC/UCLA.
tl;dr
While I like color on color, I love OSU in white against Michigan's blue.

UCLA and USC do that and I think it looks great. Would love to see Michigan and Ohio St. do that. But maybe hold off until both schools have coaches that can find their ass with both hands and a flashlight.

But one less Buckeye is appealing.
