Michigan Offensive Tackle Prospect Now a 5* on 247 Composite (Class of '19) - Plus a Sick Burn in Comments
Offensive tackle Devontae Dobbs is now a 5 star on the 247 Composite rankings. Most of his crystal balls are to Michigan.
We are a LONG way away from worrying about where this kid signs, but having a stud prospect at a position of need in our backyard is never a bad thing.
2019 OT Devontae Dobbs out of MIchigan is now ranked inside the national top 15 after last week's camp showing: https://t.co/k1j2eyhvzW

EDIT: I have to bring attention to Chipper's awesome burn below. It made my day.
Never say never, but hard to see how he leaves. Do want.
Yeah this is nice and all till Steve Wiltfong CB'd the pair to Ohio State...

Need to start beating OSU consistently so this doesn't happen.
Yeah but that means jackshit so early in the process. Moreover, I've noticed a ton of top prospects get crystal balled to OSU with even a glimmer of interest to them. It really means nothing.
Steve Wiltfong doesn't just crystal ball players for no reason, it something to be concerned about ...

Agreed. Wiltfong only cb's when he has solid information. This can all change and there's plenty of time but agreed it is definitely noteworthy and a bit worrisome. The fact he attended osu's spring game instead of Michigan's isn't a great sign either. I don't think it's anything to panic over, but I wouldn't assume he's all Blue either.
Wiltfong doesn't know jackshit about two kids who have two more years of high school football to play. Who is the other one he cb'd. Is it the other tackle?. Wiltfong has always seemed pro osu to me and anti michigan. I would put way more stock in what Lorenz has to say about this. I highly doubt two kids who have yet to see their junior years in high school have decided where they are going to college. That in itself makes his cb's horseshit along with anyone else. M. Jordan out of canton grew up a ohio state fan and webb who isn't shit anyways was before Harbaugh or half way. I don't see Harbaugh losing to many in state kids and the same for meyer. Can't wait for Wiltfong to get called out on this one, of course he will change his cb just in time as he always does. When dobbs goes to Michigan's spring game next year let's see how much Wiltfong beats his chest for the likes of meyers and whoever their o-line coach is. I have no idea what these kid's are thinking, but I am sure once they get the attention and Michigan experience the pendulum will swing. Once again I pay attention to what insiders like Lorenz have to say. Wiltfong is reading the tea leaves way to early on this one in my opinion.

Putting aside the ridiculousness of your assertion that Wiltfong is Pro-OSU and Anti-Michigan, he has literally been the top ranked forecaster every year he has done CBs. If there's anybody whose CBs carry real weight, it's his.
Most of these other guys are plugged into one school and don't have the connections to determine if multiple schools are feeling optimistic. Wiltfong is a rare breed who has his fingers on pulses around the nation.
I'll also note that he has his CB on Michigan for DTR, when other analysts (including pro-Michigan ones) see that race as UCLA's to lose.
That ship sailed when their coach went to Minnesota
This is one of the best burns I've ever seen on this Board.
Well done sir.
was in the comments?
thank you.
Chipper implied Western Michigan was the only in-state competition for a 5* OT, but that the competetion ended when PJ Fleck moved to Minnesota (the burn is that MSU is less of an option for him than WMU).
i thought the 'burn' was in the comments section of the actual article itself. p.j. fleck joke is a winner. hat tip to chipper.

but it was a bar like a metal pole, not a bar like a tavern. So he got hurt.
I can think of at least 3-9 reasons why this is the best burn I've seen in a while.
You forgot one (or two)
3-9 is the new "can't until we beat OSU"
Which was the new "can't until we beat MSU and OSU"
which was the new "Oakland is in play"

....and monkey rodeo gifs! Oh, what the hell....
Admit it, you did chuckle!
to this day.
that burn was flawless in it's execution. You can't improve on perfection. Subtlety plays in humor
The sublime poetic genius of a clever turn of phrase. That is true comedy.
Your modern, moronic, feeble-minded sophmoric excuse for wit is merely a parade of nasty, filthy, vulgar, human excrement!
Thanks for the laugh!
Savage.
...which poster downvoted Chipper's post?
I'm interested to read his rationale. Is it a Sparty fan with an account here? #WitchHunt

I figured it was Mork. You know he has an account on here to catalog all the #disrespekt
Yeah...this one belongs in the User HOF

It appears to be the second most up-voted comment ever.
I haven't been in there in a looong time. I just blew an hour. Re-read Brian's ass blasting of DB with the emails thing. Good stuff.

Damn right today was a good day!!!
Go Blue!
He slept at a Holiday Inn.

Belleville HS. Coached by Jermain Crowell who used to be a DC (ithink) at Cass Tech.
Yep - and Belleville is loaded with talent. They might have the most D-I talent in the state, aside from Cass Tech. Devontae Dobbs, Julian Barnett, Patrick Lupro, Andre Seldon, Michael Key, Davion Williams...
Count Wiltfong among "others" I guess. He just CB'd him to OSU.
