Michigan NFL Draft Streak in Jeopardy?
Last year, Michigan football players were chosen in the NFL Draft for the 77th straight time. Only the USC Trojans can match that streak. Here's an article on it.
This year, none of our boys are expected to be drafted.
Is this something to be sad about? Or just an interesting factoid? I can't decide. But just thought I'd share.

I could see Rudock raising his draft stock if he has a decent game vs a very good UF defense. Rudock is in good hands with Fisch and Harbaugh. They'll help quite a bit.

He didn't have to be considered a 1st round pick after the bowl games to have improved his stock. He consecutively creamed #11 Wisconsin, #1 Bama and #2 Oregon. His stock was zilch before then and now it's back to where it was. As I recall, Jones had some PT early this year and the OSU offense didn't look very good at all.

Nobody said he would have been a 1st rounder. He said that his draft stock won't be higher than it was last year.

Some stupid team would've found a way to pick him in 1st or 2nd last year if he had entered. His hype was huge for a short time there

He essentially tied the Lions hands. He was the best player on the board at the time (10 I believe) and they snatched him up.

his stock never went up. His stock actually went down as team investigated his background. If he didn't have work ethic concern, he would've been #1 overall regardless of his performance in the NC game.

One bowl game absolutely can raise or lower your draft stock. Of course you are not going from the 7th round to the second, but one more good game can move you from the fringe, into the 7th or form the 7th to the 6th or 5th.

reference being #5 in 2007 as if that matters. Now, I get that 2006 was a #2 ranking late in the year, with a BCS title matchup on the line. But they lost, essentially by double digits, at Ohio State, then got roughed up by USC.

I know it isn't full decade but 2008 to 2014 produced a combined record of just over .500, so it's pretty easy to see where he's coming from. Same record as Oregon State. Slightly better than Duke.

I'm not debating how many years make a decade. And It's not a stretch to say that we've been a mediocre program from 2005-2015, which is eleven years.
As great as 2006 was, we beat only one team ranked in both polls when we played them, and that was ND. We lost our two biggest games when it mattered most. Two really good years out of 10, with some five loss seasons and bowl-less seasons mixed in makes us mediocre. And until we beat Sparty, OSU and some big non-conference games, we'll still be a mediocre program.
