Michigan Mower

Submitted by Blazefire on
As the snow was melting today (more due tonight, of course), I decided to clean up my lawnmower in preparation for spring. It is a Yard Man self propelled walk behind that I bought used, a few years old. As I was cleaning it up, I decided it could use a paint job. It is now green, with yellow cowlings. I thought blue would be better. It just snowballed from there. I don't have anything done on it yet, but there are several stickers, decals and whatnot on the mower I am going to replace with my own designs. I present to you those designs below. I'll upload photos once I get a waterproof sticker set and print them off. Baddest Mower on the block, baby!

So I have this dream that someday I'll own a Corvette ZR1 in Michigan colors. Did you have this dream at some point and then get married and have kids and end up having to settle for a Yardman in Michigan colors? (and my parents wonder why they don't have grandkids yet) /seriousily though cool project. Post up photos. Also you can buy Sparty gear and run it over with the mower for some quality Youtube videos.

You sir are an inspiration to us all. Ideas are flying around my cranium as I type. My dull winter days will now be filled with thoughts of breaking into the snow covered shed to unveil my lawnmower for the year and all the possibilities....

The weather has gotten nice enough for me to take it outdoors and do some painting! In taking it apart a bit, I realized I don't have enough patience to risk breaking it, so I can only paint the easily removed parts. The big black engine cowling has a bunch of gaskets on it, and after removing one, I discovered they were something akin to a ginger girlfriend to put back on, so that's not coming off. It will, however, get a nice big winged decal. The whole thing was the green of the Yard-Man logos to start with. Tomorrow, handlebar and cables get Maized! That's right, I said cables. All of the uniforms have maize piping on the blue now.
