I almost always enjoy Michigan Monday.
Gerdeman has praise not only for Martin and Van Bergen, but also for Desmond Morgan (freshman linebacker!!) J.T. Floyd, and Jeremy Gallon.
He ends by saying,
Michigan may have liked the sound of 8-4 at the beginning of the season, but not anymore. Things have changed in Ann Arbor. Teams actually have to beat the Wolverines now, because they're not going to do it for you.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the season, with anticipation, and not with a dread feeling of doom and despair. What a difference a year makes!!

Love that quote. The upper classman have gone through so much at UM, I think they got sick of all the nay-sayers out there talking about a second half collapse that they unleashed their anger against Ili. I hope they continue to play with a chip on their shoulder against Nebraska and Ohio.

Is the author a Michigan fan on an Ohio blog or is he an Ohio fan? I am new to these M Mondays.

Gerdeman is an Ohio fan. These have been written for years. Seems very balanced, fair, sarcastic and snarky when warranted. I'd be delighted if mgoblog ever offered a regular feature on Ohio, somewhat similar to this, since they are our major rival.

Seconded. Would love to see mgoblog Buckeye Monday.

Three main rivals these days, OSU, ND, and MSU based on the past decade. Of course, I went to the Illinois game where they claim we are one of their big rivals. Michigan is becoming a big game again on everyone's schedule once again......

I was half interested in going, but since I'll be out of the country the next two weekends, it wasn't in the cards. How was the atmosphere? Were they still wearing a ton of the "Muck Fichigan" shirts? I have noticed that Michigan seems to be a huge draw on the road . . . I couldn't easily get tickets to Iowa the week before, and the stands were pretty full in Evanston as well.

is a long-running OSU blog, and they do these Michigan Monday columns to scout Michigan, essentially. Darn good read a lot of the time with the occasional nug of hard-core pro-Buckeye ideology, but still a good read.

I understand that the Big Ten is down, but the most amount of points this Wolverine defense has given up to Big Ten opponents is just 24 points—twice (Northwestern and Iowa). By comparison, the Buckeyes have given up at least 26 points to THREE Big Ten opponents.
The tables may have not yet been turned completely, but you can hear them screeching across the floor. Though to be fair, the Buckeyes have played better offensive teams than the Wolverines have.
Seriously? He's gonna honestly say that? Our only differences in teams so far is Wisconsin and Indiana. I'll give them Wisconsin but that's the only better offensive team that OSU has played

While Michigan curb stomped Purdue and OSU, not so much.
