You can't count the exhibition loss to the US NTDP as a loss.  We were ahead comfortably until Red started experimenting.  Let's hope we were just flat for the GLI and when we get back to B1G play things will improve.  Granted a lot of the wins were one goal wins which could have gone the other way.

Michigan State has put some terrible teams on the ice the last three years and Michigan almost always comes out flat against them. There's a big problem when your players can't get up for this kind of a game.

I don't follow the recruiting in hockey, but even in football and basketball, how many of the players are from this state and can really grasp the idea of :in-state rival"???

That seems more for fans than players. I'm guessing for the majority of players, it's just another game.

Yeah, well he was about the only one ready to go at the beginning of the game, and made a lot of saves which should have given us a chance.  Of course, we got shut out, so it wasn't like 2-1 became 3-1.  Is there really much difference between 2-0 and 3-0 at that point, when we played like crap the whole game?

Attended the game, we looked very lazy. Numerous passes ended up behind our players and they consistently looked surprised to get the puck. Flat, very flat, and honestly neither team showed a ton of intensity. You could certainly tell it was a consolation game.

The team completely lacked energy against an awful MSU team. So much talent on offense barely even managed a significant scoring chance through most of the game. That's the kind of Michigan team that's been sprouting up off and on the last few years: enormous talent but they play games every once in a while (or entire seasons. See 2012) where they just skate around like no one feels like giving a crap.

Is Andrew Copp really the single motivator on this team? The only guy that can get this team to care? If no one feels like trying, maybe everyone else should just leave early to go to their respective AHL and ECHL teams.

I grow tired of watching these enormously talented Michigan teams play down to teams comprised entirely of guys who would be 3rd and 4th liners for us.
