3 seed Michigan is taking on the 1st seeded Louisville Cardinals now in an elimination game in Louisville.
Michigan needs to beat Louisville in this game and then again tomorrow night at 6 PM to win the regional. Louisville just needs to win one of the two games.
Michigan beat Bradley 4-3 earlier today. They lost to Louisville yesterday 4-3 in a very tight game.
The game will be broadcasted on ESPN3. Michigan is the away team and is batting first. Keith Lehmann is starting for Michigan. He's 1-3 with a 4.80 this year. Expect the bullpen a lot today.
Opposite field single for Glines and Michigan has a runner on 1st with one out.
The announcers mentioned Harbaugh and Michigan gets a base hit.
Harbaugh, Harbaugh, Harbaugh, Harbaugh, Harbaugh, Harbaugh, Harbaugh, Harbaugh!
M HR, 2-0. Woo!
HOME RUN!!!!!!!! 2-RUN BLAST BY BENEDETTI!!!
Michigan leads 2-0 in the 1st inning!
2 RUN HR BY BENEDETTI TO RIGHT FIELD AND MICHIGAN IS UP 2-0!
Benedetti has been huge so far in the regionals! A HR yesterday, the save today against Bradley, and another HR now.
Top of the 1st ends with Michigan up 2-0. They also forced the Louisville starter to throw over 20 pitches which is a good sign as well.
Out on top early!
Clearly haven't done any research past what they were given. Have been mispronouncing names and repeating the same anecdotes verbatim for three days.
2-1 Michigan, after a Louisville HR.
HR Lousiville. 2-1 Michigan with one out in the bottom of the 1st.
For those watching softball, Florida just walkoffed against Auburn in the bottom of the 9th and won 3-2. They move on to the WCWS final starting tomorrow night.
First inning over. Michigan up 2-1
Go Blue! Beat UL! And screw Pitino!
Back to back walks fllowed by an RBI double ties the game at 2. Louisville has runners at 2nd and 3rd with one out in the bottom of the 2nd.
Hendrickson comes in to relieve Lehmann, gets ahead 1-2 in the count and then hits a batter. Bases loaded one out for Louisville's #2 hitter who hit the HR earlier.
Sac fly for Louisville. 3-2 Cards with 2 outs and two still on base. Nice catch by Slater in right.
for the updates. I'm out od state and watching the softball game, These are welcome additions to a two sport Michigan Sunday.
Fly ball to Glines in center ends the inning. 3-2 Louisville after 2.
Don't think either team is done scoring. Need to knock Louisville's starter out and make it a battle of the pens.
NY Pizza > Chicago. Not even a debate people.
thread.
Yeah just noticed. LOL. Too many concurrent sports threads
Although I will say that it is a nice problem to have, both for Michigan athletics and the board at large, to have two teams to discuss in-depth as we head into June now. We talk football and basketball a lot here regardless of performance, but it's awesome to see Michigan softball and baseball and several other sports performing at a high level as well.
Michigan goes down 1-2-3 in the top of the third.
First two runners reach and then Michigan butchers a sac bunt attempt. 4-2 Cards with 2nd and 3rd and no outs.
Good pitching gets Michigan out of the jam. Still 4-2 after 3.
Michigan goes down 1-2-3 again in the top of the 4th
Another Louisville run. 5-2 Cards, the games starting to get out of hand.
Leadoff double by Patrick and single by Cronenworth. 1st and 3rd no outs down 5-2 in the top of the 6th. Now's the time to get some runs.
Amazing the money I spend for cable, which supposedly includes the "sports package", but I don't get ESPN3.

Strikeout and DP mean no runs by Michigan. Not good. Still 5-2
Because baseball/softball is 90% standing around?
They play doubleheaders all the time, so this is nothing new. Sometimes it works in your favor, sometimes it doesn't.
Wheels coming off a bit. Louisville is just too good to be giving up unearned runs.
I know this would be over if it were softball, but you still gotta know there's only one out, left fielder.
