Michigan losing BTN helmet vote to Iowa

Submitted by Michigan Eaglet on May 27th, 2013 at 8:20 PM

The Big Ten Network has created a bracket to find out which Big Ten team has the best helmets. We made it through the first two rounds and now are losing by a large margin to Iowa (67.14% to 32.86% currently). There is no way Iowa has better helmets than Michigan's winged helmet.  This was done by division, so we are in the divison final and would go up against the winner of Penn State and Indiana. MGoFaithful, let's show the Big Ten Network that Michigan has the best and most iconic helmets in the Big Ten.  Go Blue!

Honestly, it doesn't matter. Michigan has the best helmets in the B1G. Don't give the BTN stupid HITZ by joining in this mess.

Lies its elegance. It's an iconic helmet, for the same reason that the gold ND helmets are revered. It's nothing special either, but it's classic. Remember, the "wings" that originally appeared were nothing more than tape applied the helmets of the offensive players so that the QB could identify them better. It wasn't like Picasso was commissioned to design them, but I he had, it would have
Been his finest work.

Who cares. The title says all you need to know about the poll. Any school/team who beats Michigan in some helmet poll knows deep down that Michigan has the best ones in football.

Iowa = copy the Steelers and put some ugly bird on the side.

Michigan = Pure tradition.  Known around the world as at least the top 3 in college football.

that poll is bs

Every summer there's a "Oh crap Idaho State is beating Michigan's helmets". Our helmets are best, if people at crappy football schools want to spend their summers up-voting their helmets in meaningless polls then we should let them. Realitiscally, everyone knows Michigan has a top 3ish helmet depending on your opinion.

their uniforms and helmets back in the day, I believe it was late 70's or early 80's if my memory is still serving me at all. They wanted to look like a better team and or the Steelers, because they had the gaudiest uni's in the Big Ten and were anything but intimidating. I am not sure whether or not it was the uniforms or the coaching and recruiting, but they are alot better now than the auto-win they were then. Getting back to my original point (if I can remember) there is NO WAY IN HELL that their helmet is nicer than the most iconic, meanest looking, which look just as cool from behind as in the front epecially when there are a number of them making a tackle at the same time,,,,, not to mention why it was done in the first place, so the receivers would be easy to pic out downfield.

This may not matter, but Michigan was doing an excellent job gaining ground all night. Suddenly, the tide has turned. :(
