Michigan Lax CCLA Changes

Submitted by weasel3216 on

Just thought i would post this in case anyone wanted to know.  The CCLA has accepted Toledo and Ohio to the CCLA division 1 and has "kicked out" Miami (OH), Eastern Michigan, Buffalo, and West Virginia.  It says that Michigan will play in the CCLA East with Ohio, Toledo, and Pitt.

I have played against Toledo and Ohio before (played at BGSU) and neither team is really a challenge for Michigan.  Ohio is pretty good, they are one of the few club teams in the NCLL that recruited, but should not even come within 10 goals of Michigan.

I think only Eastern Michigan was kicked out.  The other three defected to other conferences.  Miami to the GRLC.  Buffalo to the PCLL.  West Virginia to the SELC.  A couple years ago it was Indiana and Purdue going to the GRLC.  I can't say I blame any of them.  None of them are ever going to get by Michigan, and Michigan State now a tough out too.  They are probably choosing easier paths to the national tournament.

Interesting that Michigan was put in the East while Michigan State is in the West.  So their annual game won't count as a conference game?

Hopefully lacrosse will be varsity in the next couple of years and all of this won't matter any more.
