Not streamed to espn3
September 20th, 2010 at 11:58 AM ^
So what if I don't get ESPNU? I can't watch the game on TV? What the ??????
September 20th, 2010 at 12:18 PM ^
I can't remember the last time I didn't have access to a Michigan game on tv. Has to be at least a decade. I didn't think it was possible to be on a WWL channel not named ESPN or ESPN2 for the Big Ten.
If I ever upgrade to get ESPNU they'll add ESPN$ and televise it there. Looks like this game is the radio or sports bar for me.
September 20th, 2010 at 12:51 PM ^
The Ball State game in '06 was also on ESPNU, IIRC.
September 20th, 2010 at 1:35 PM ^
And the '07 Minnesota game was on ESPN Classic.
September 20th, 2010 at 11:57 AM ^
the pecking order for games was:
ABC/ESPN: Game 1
Loser ABC/ESPN: Game 2
BTN: Game 3
ESPN2: Game 4
All others, BTN....
I thought ESPNU wasn't even an option for Big Ten teams anymore with the almighty BTN?
September 20th, 2010 at 12:12 PM ^
That looks right, however, the order changes sometimes. For instance, Big10 got the 2nd or 3rd pick in the first year for one week and picked UM/MSU game. It was a posturing move to break the statewide cable stalemate, and it worked.
September 20th, 2010 at 12:17 PM ^
IIRC, the pecking order, as you say, changes every week; and we don't know which weeks are which in advance. This was true for the 2007 season and, I beliebe, still true today:
ABC/ESPN always gets first choice of Big ten games to televise.
In three weeks, BTN gets second choice - I believe BTN gets to pick those weeks and can do so 7-10 days before the scheduled games.
In three weeks, BTN gets third choice - same as above
In all other (six) weeks, BTN gets fourth choice.
ABC/ESPN can decide to put third or fourth choice games on any channel they choose of ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU (as the Big ten conference have deemed all of them widely available)
ABC agrees to mirror any regionally carried 3:30 pm Big Ten game on ESPN2 in areas of the country that do not get the Big Ten game on ABC. Any regional prime time games are not included in the mirroring clause.
September 20th, 2010 at 11:58 AM ^
Having to hear Pam Ward call a game is like that time for Cleveland when Peter made his house fly.
September 20th, 2010 at 11:58 AM ^
Great, I don't get ESPNU in HD and once you get used to HD the SD games are no fun to watch.
September 20th, 2010 at 12:04 PM ^
to that...
September 20th, 2010 at 1:17 PM ^
Yea i had to watch Michigan vs Umass on sd cause it was on big ten alternative channel here. Why when i have 300+ channels can big ten alternative channels not be on hd too
September 20th, 2010 at 4:36 PM ^
Some two hours later, I come to find out my new locals are NOT CARRIED IN HD ON DIRECTV. I mean, I can deal with the random ESPN Classic game in SD but networks not in HD? In this day and age that's preposterous. And (Directv says) the FCC won't allow you to switch locals.
September 20th, 2010 at 9:23 PM ^
You can have one "billing" address and another "service" address. Just have your service address set to somewhere in your old locals. Lots of threads about it on the internet. Dish/Directv don't care, they just have to be in compliance.

to know when this game starts, I'm going and have tailgating to plan!
I was hearing that this might be a night game on BTN actually.
September 20th, 2010 at 12:06 PM ^
The game is a 3:30 pm est start time, It is on the Indiana athletic website !
i got tickets to the Indiana game for 5 bucks apiece
using my UW-Milwaukee student id for the game, and the seats are right by the Michigan Section for the game.
If you go on the IU athletic website, it even says you can have a student ID from another school !
IU Student Tickets
A valid IU student ID must accompany student tickets in order to gain entry to the game. Students from other universities may purchase a ticket for admission at the regular IU Student price with their current Student ID (must present ID at gate). Students who have lost, stolen, or destroyed tickets may have their ticket replaced for a $5 service fee. They can pick up their reprinted ticket at an East Side Will Call Booth.
September 20th, 2010 at 12:31 PM ^
I had heard the same thing about the student tickets and the ticket office said the same thing, but there is an article from a month ago where the athletic director says "He's cut ticket prices to $5 for children under the age of 18, college students who are not from the opposing school and Indiana alums who have graduated within the previous three years"
That worries me a bit because I was planning to use my MCard. Anyone have any more knowledge about this?

Do bars have ESPN U? I'm not even sure if I've ever watched a game on ESPN U at a bar. This is weird.
September 20th, 2010 at 12:30 PM ^
Most sports bars (in my experience) have ESPN U. Show up early and get a good seat, you should be able to request they put the game on if it isnt on the bar's line-up.

someone already posted about watching ESPNU games at bars in Antwerp, Belgium like three days ago, see the following post:
September 20th, 2010 at 2:20 PM ^
I just moved to Antwerp 3 months ago. If you want I can drop you an email or something. Would be nice to meet a fellow M fan over here.
September 20th, 2010 at 12:14 PM ^
Pam Ward called this game last year. What a coincidence.
September 20th, 2010 at 12:20 PM ^
So it wasn't a problem for me. Not the case this year.
September 20th, 2010 at 4:09 PM ^
and didnt want to spend more time trying but her announcing was amazing that game. i remember this gem:
"Pushed out of bounds by Mouton....touchdown Indiana."- Pam Ward
September 21st, 2010 at 10:33 PM ^
Pam Ward does ACC games now, per Pam Ward on Kornheiser's radio show a few weeks ago.
No more man voice on our 4th best Big Ten game each week.
September 20th, 2010 at 12:19 PM ^
if you can't get the game on espn 3
this is what i would look for then
2. www.myp2p.eu you will have to download the streamtorrent player, make sure you go into the forum for college football, from their you will find what you need. once again don't forget to download the stream torrents, and also on the safe side, the TVANT download also.
Been watching Tigers games all season for free doing this thru the myp2p website
September 20th, 2010 at 12:22 PM ^
If you remember, some Big Ten games used to be on ESPN Classic. The big ten agreed to switch games form ESPN Classic to ESPNU. This link confirms it.
ESPN chose NW @ Gophers over Mich @ Indiana.

Seriously, all 300 fans of those teams will already be at that game.
September 20th, 2010 at 12:23 PM ^
I have ESPNU
I have ESPNU in HD
Guess I'm in the "watching the game" boat this week.
September 20th, 2010 at 12:25 PM ^
I can't find it in HD. Please let me know if you know off hand what the channel is for the HD version.
September 20th, 2010 at 12:27 PM ^
I'm one of the few fortunate to have Time Warner. I suggest you call your local cable provider.
September 20th, 2010 at 12:41 PM ^
I have Comcast. Channel 853 and 272 are ESPNU HD
September 20th, 2010 at 3:28 PM ^
They're not.
September 29th, 2010 at 11:27 PM ^
Thanks, Nancy! I hope at least one of them works Saturday! If not, I'll be condemned to watching the game in a noisy, smelly sports bar, and I don't drink!
September 20th, 2010 at 12:49 PM ^
Uverse has ESPNU HD. Woot
September 20th, 2010 at 12:27 PM ^
sports fans, but don't have DirecTv. Here is your chance!!!
September 20th, 2010 at 12:44 PM ^
per mgoblue.com
Where did you see ESPNU?
September 20th, 2010 at 3:31 PM ^

Edit: and it says ESPNU too-

September 20th, 2010 at 12:53 PM ^
from reading the article, looks like your gonna need a Non- UM student id to get into this one, an indiana studnet id,, or know a student at Indiana whos going to the game to accompany you !
September 20th, 2010 at 1:03 PM ^
Where did you see the part about an IU student accompanying you? That would work for us also. I also sucked it up and called the ticket office again, and this time they tried to tell me that you needed to have an id to an IU campus. I asked him to check to make sure, and he asked one of his superiors and they're saying that any student id to any university would work. So I might just buy those and hope for the best. Maybe their athletic director responds to emails like Dave Brandon does.
September 20th, 2010 at 12:58 PM ^
Thank Pam Wards mom pants I will be in the stadium.
September 20th, 2010 at 1:25 PM ^
I think an IU student can bring 1 guest with them at the student prices, but then again i think that may pertain to spouse or dmoestic partner ??????
i'd call and verify to be sure.
Here is what you are looking for

September 20th, 2010 at 1:27 PM ^
if anything, print that out and bring it to the game, in case they complain, that way you have proof and can whip that out at the gate !
September 20th, 2010 at 1:40 PM ^
I ended up emailing the IU Associate AD to ask him, waiting for a respones hopefully. Whipping it out at the gate also seems like an intriguing option, but that's probably more likely to land me in jail than into the stadium. /s
