Mentioned along with MIT and UVA, good company to have. Saw this last night, thought it was pretty cool.

Given the format of the show, that's probably an insult.
EDIT: Nvm. Should've watched it first. Given the show is satire, if Colbert says, "Michigan is doing things right," he's making fun of Michigan. Spoke too soon!

Given the context it was sincere.
Edit: Haha, looks like we both spoke too soon.

LL Cool J has also featured the University of Michigan as a school that is "Doin' It and Doin' It and Doin' It Well."
That was an awesome album. The cover was just as awesome.

Always known Michigan is one of the best colleges out there, but it is nice to get some extra told you so from some guy with a book. Got one degree in Civil Engineering and workin on a second in Mechanical, but i still cant get a job -.-
......Anybody on here lookin for an intern this summer......
>_>
<_<
Civil is tough to get a job in, once you get your mechanical it should be easier.
Water and wastewater are always looking for ME/CEs. Try WEF or AWWA in your area and see who's looking for summer interns.
Have you studied for the PE? This is also something that is important for a Civil and pretty good to have as a Mechanical.
I got my grad degree in CE from Michigan geez 4 years ago. Prof. Wight in CE was just elected president of ACI. Big stinkin deal for a concrete guy.

Good to hear that Prof. Wight is still there. He was my counselor when I was there 20 years ago. He's one of the nicest guys I've ever met.
What city and what field? I work for an auto supplier just outside of chicago and we are looking for summer interns in a couple areas, mostly manufacturing engineering.

Woo! lots of comments, Ill put it all here so Its not a bunch of spam.
"Have you studied for the PE?"
-I already have my EIT certification, I just need the 4 years working experience and take the test for the PE.
"Prof. Wight"
-Yeah, I took my concrete classes with Wight, I enjoyed him more than most people.
"Where are you looking for an internship? What city and what field?"
-Location isnt an issue for me, Ive moved too and from Seattle. Field wise, Idealy Im liking part design, structural, and efficency type work in either the auto, aero, or somewhere in the design industry in general. more simply stated, Hvac isnt my thing.
Haha, Love the accidental job hunt help guys!

Do you mean structural? Or general civil?
If you're a structural guy my firm is going to likely have an opening in about a month or so. Not sure if they're going to try to hire a high level person or promote from within and have an entry level opening (I'm guessing strongly that it will be the latter).
We're located DC/MD/NoVA area. The guy in the cube next to me is a Michigan grad too, so you'd feel right at home ;)
Hit me up at [email protected] if you want more info. We do primarily repair and restoration engineering and construction management in the DC area. Job market is great out this way as the Government never stops spending..........
(Also a fun fact, we have no Ohio State employees despite having people from just about every other Big Ten school... we hired one OSU kid a couple months ago and saying he was an unintelligent catastrophic failure would be an understatement. He is no longer with us.)
MGoBlog does it all. Found this guy a job.
Now let's see if we can have an MGoWedding . . . introduce one of the three females that actually posts on here to a lucky guy in good MGoPoints standing.
Of course, they have to invite all of us to the Wedding. Halftime at the Ohio State game, right?
