I get irritated at an opposing team's fan when they politely cheer on their team in a U of M venue. I can't imagine what dealing with this ass clown must've been like for PSU fans.

enlighten us as to the rationale for macing someone already in handcuffs when you outnumber the person 3+ to 1?

From all accounts he was a dick & deserved to be arrested, but seriously?

How is this different from just handcuffing him and then pulling out your nightsticks and beating him until his eyes bleed?

Sit on him, zip tie his ankles, and haul the asshole out like a side of beef.

The danger to other fans, fellow officers, and excessive injury lawsuits doesn't seem worth the risk.

I don't really give a hoot if guys like this get pepper sprayed/maced. If you act according to the rules and strictures of society, then you won't be asked to leave in the first place. If you resist the orders of law enforcement, then all bets are off. There ought to be repercussions for behavior that he was likely exhibiting, and getting maced is one of them.

There are always questions and uncertainty but the mace from two different officers seems to be overkill.  I can only imagine being maced while handcuffd would send my body into spasms that could have otherwise been controlled.  Seems like the guy undoubtedly deserved to be arrested.  Luckily, I plan on never finding myself in this situation.

Talk about someone who needs to get some perspective on their fandom/general demeaner/outlook on life.  I hope this guy had some time to think in jail.

Geez. I thought I felt bad today after making the trek (awesome by the way) and losing like that and having to come home and come to grips that we aren't that good.  Imagine this guy finding out from jail that Michigan lost and how much that has to hurt.

Seems like this guy was an ass and deserved to be arrested and taken out but holy hell.  Seems to be a bit overkill and I would be interested to hear what any law enforcement officers would have to say about this.

I was at the game - PSU Homecoming, great weather after 24 hours of rain, and most everyone in a good mood and friendly while tailgating and later inside the stadium. Didn't observe mace-worthy fans at all.

The two previous Michigan visits, both of which started at 8:00 PM, were a slightly different story: it looked like that extra three hours meant three more to drink.
