Harbs will have more room for other guys on the board.
For a while there it looked impossible to get Michigan's class under the cap.
I wonder if the coaches thought these were shakey "committments" all along, and planned accordingly.

According to Sam Webb McDoom was higher on the board than Johnson. When Eddie committed to the Ducks we jumped on Johnson as a reasonable replacement. Now that it looks like McDoom will join the good guys it makes Nate expendable... crootin

If McDoom comes, this isn't a big loss. Look at all the WRs in this class. You could add Pie too. I mean Harbaugh doesn't use that many WRs.

Since apparently the word commitment doesn't mean anything to the michigan coaching staff I'm not sure why it would to a recruit.

Because we are Michigan, we should maintain higher integrity than 17-18 year-old recruits, who are being tempted with all kinds of promises, girls, bagmen. Especially with Swenson, whose loyalty and dedication to the program was unquestioned, in addition to having an acceptable level of talent. Even if we eat a scholly position, he shouldn't have been dumped.

There is the possibility that he wants to come to Michigan but realizes that will only be possible if there is a scholarship available on NSD. So, the plan will be to see if he receives a LOI and then decide.
Or he could be hoping another school sends a LOI...

Maybe he isn't guarenteed a slot, and thus can't pick until NSD. If there is room, he comes. Else he picks his next best option.
