We are a matchup nightmare because of Mo. I guess you try to outscore us, hope we have an off shooting night and send us to the free throw line. We have so many weapons and we have a defense to match.

He shot them in high school, I'm almost certain he'll be shooting them here before his time is up. Him as a senior and Castleton as a sophomore will be absolutely incredible. We'll see about Davis lol.

I think Nebraska had it right the first time. You need an athletic center that can defend Mo but also protect the rim. I think on offense you have to open up shooters by driving inside and kicking out. But I think we have really good help D that prevents open shooters. Honestly maybe you just have to hack us to death and hope we miss enough FTs. We're playing so well right now

It is hard for me to be objective.  I keep getting unmitigated emotional highs from this Michigan team.  But here we are, and a level-headed math brain guy tells me that my emotions match reality - Michigan is elite!  #1 elite!

It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!

Tell me which team is the "true" Big Ten Champion

MSU: regular season champ. Murdered by Ohio State, Michigan (x2). Beat one team in the top 4 of the conference (Purdue at the buzzer at home), 1-3 combined record. Avoided playing games at Crisler, Nebraska, and Purdue. Only beat 11 of 13 possible teams, never beaten OSU or UM

Michigan: Big Ten Tourney champs. Lost at NW and Nebraska. Beat MSU (x2), OSU, AND Purdue. Combined 4-3 record against the top 4 of the conference (notice 3 more games than MSU played and three more wins). Played AT MSU, OSU, Purdue, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska. Went 3-3 in those games. BEAT ALL 13 TEAMS!!! First team in Big Ten history to accomplish that feat.

And it has beaten the No. 2 and No. 8 ranked teams among six wins in the past two weeks.

The significance of this is the fact that when Michigan lost any games this year, after the trip to Hawaii, they twice lost the fourth game in a span of nine days.

They also lost twice in four games to Carolina and Ohio State, perhaps the team's worst loss of the season, after building a huge first half lead and seeing it disappear. Those losses were great learning experiences for this team, which seemed to build character in victory and defeat and performed in New York as a team that could weaather any storm and meet any challenge.

That is the essence of team-building, understanding roles and maximizing strengths while limiting weakenesses.

It was amazing to watch this team play under pressure during the tournament and compete and succeed. This team grew up in front of our eyes and just kept getting better and better. Now, they know they can play and beat anyone. And that is the real testament of their season-long effort.

In the country that has a better system and 5 guys trying harder on both ends of the floor at any given minute of the game.  Who's got it better than us?  Thanks Coach B!!

It is nice to watch a sport where teams can grow into themselves and overcome early-season struggles while still having a chance at a title.  Like, if this was football Michigan would have been 10-2 and playing the best in the country and be relegated to some non-playoff BCS bowl.  Instead, they should be one of the favorites to at least make the Final Four.

Just checked Bracket Matrix.  In their latest update, from 3:40 today - before our game - we're a 4 and Purdue is a 2.  Many brackets have us as a 3 and one as a 2 (!).  Very interested to see where we'll be after today's result is taken into account.

Note as well that MSU is the last 2 seed now in the Matrix and several brackets have them a 4.  We just might knock them out of Detroit.

I'm much more happy over how we've been playing better right now. Yes, we were winning in February but most of those games were stressful. Bad teams played us to the bitter end, annoyingly. But lately...double digit win against OSU, winning at Penn State (which is a tough opponent, just ask the Buckeyes), pounding Maryland on their home court. And every game of the conference tournament except for Iowa because the officials. The team is taking it to a whole new level right now. I'm loving it all...except the free throw shooting. I can't seem to get that elephant out of the room. He still worries me.

And yes I've been around this team rooting for over 40 years. Been to Rose Bowls, Nat Champ games, Orange Bowls, Big10 basketball championships, Final 4 appearances etc:

In basketball we have not had the best of luck if and when we advance far. Always something happening to screw up or a fluke play etc: Hoping we continue to play hard and finish.

Did I read this correctly? We have the 6th best offense and the 2nd best defense in the nation since February? That is national championship numbers if we can keep that up

Other ways to put how good Michigan has been into context -- since our loss to Nebraska, Michigan has been 1-seed:

http://barttorvik.com/trankslice.php?year=2018&sort=&conlimit=&begin=20180119&end=20180501&top=&quad=4&mingames=3&venue=All&type=All

Or to choose a measure that wasn't created just to make Michigan look good, Torvik has Q-rank (which is supposed to measure how well a team does against tournament quality teams, and I think works by restricting to games against top 50 teams).  By this measure, Michigan is also a 1-seed.
