You can see LeVert getting confidence. It looks like we're getting a glimpse of what he's been showcasing in practices. On the negative side, I've followed Stauskus on defense a few times and he's looked very lackadaisical... probably why he just got yanked after that foul.

I hadn't been paying attention to CMU this season either. For anyone interested, CMU is 7-5 with double digit losses to Iowa, Utah, Charlotte, Bradley and Nebraska. Most impressive win, if you can call it that, is a 92-80 win over Texas State.

No three-point attempts out of Stauskas in the first half is an interesting stat.  Guys look good tonight, LeVert obviously making a statement.  Trey has 17 points and that is something I would not have known if not keeping track i.e. a quiet 17!  Wish GRIII would hit more of those open 3-point looks he gets.

As I wrote below I have been away from the game for a couple brief times but I did notice I think he "passed up" on two open looks.  Otherwise, I really don't think it's a case of them denying but more a fluke that one of the nation's best shooters hasn't really needed to launch from behind the arc added to the fact a few of his teammates have a fairly hot hand.

I must admit I've been away from the tv for a couple brief periods so I admit if what I wrote is pretty assinine!  But even saying that and even having seen much of the scoring he's done it just seems "quieter" compared to usual outbursts (I would have pegged him for 11-12 points).

Enjoy Burke while he is here. A man amongst boys. Other than Akune being Akune and Staukas being sleepy, it's hard to find much to complain about in the first half. McGary got away with a foul or two, but still cant remember a UM team that didn't turn the ball over, or foul as little as this team does.

Obvious caveat that we're playing CMU..... but I watched Duke (#1) and Louisville (#3) today and I feel we're on a different level than those teams. They're both probably better defensively but overall they don't really compare. Am I a huge homer for thinking this?

When he says even though guys miss a shot, they still keep their defensive hat on and there were 2 examples recently.

Those are the things I love about a Beilein coached team

GR3 is bammin' on people today. Fresh legs after that week off apparently. Nik is warmed up. I wish the defensive intensity would get back up though. Hopefully McGary will spark it with this sub.
