Michigan assistant bball search

Been a week or two since we lost Meyer and donlon. Any word on candidates? Decision soon? Especially recruiting purposes.

Well if you scroll down 1 post on the homepage and look in the Etc. section of today's UV you will see a link for "assistant coach names". Good place to start.

on MLive, sources have indicated that the front-runners being interviewed/considered this week are:

Duquesne assistant Charles Thomas

Creighton assistant Preston Murphy (via phone interview)

Additionally, current Michigan director of player personnel Chris Hunter and Le Moyne head coach Patrick Beilein are still believed to be candidates.

No one is talking about him, but Michael Jordan would be a hell of a hire. He's already on the clothing and he'd be a great recruiter. People will say that he'd never move to Ann Arbor, but with CGI and some clips from space jam, we could make it look like he's in the building.

Hearing Phil Jackson, Bbbbbbi--lllluppppps, and Mike Babcock have all thrown their hats in the ring.  But only if Popovich says no.  Anyone else hearing the same?

If they can find someone to fit in the suit, then I can roll with ALF. Rather a shame that the actor in that outfit, who was actually credited as ALF's assistant, died last year. Still, it would be an off-the-wall but not overall bad choice that appeals to the vast numbers of Generation Xers like myself that inhabit the board and the fanbase.

Beilein will be the first coach in the world to bring on robot assistant coaches made by a team at the Michigan School of Engineering. They'll  never need to replaced, they will never leave and they will come standard with water guns and will make subs on demand 24/7.

Why OP is getting voted down. Have not talked about it in a week or so, dude was just looking for an update.

I understand why people are so tentative about posting new threads sometimes here. You have to be a super slueth to find old info.

I didn't downvote him, but the guy's been around since 2011.  That should be long enough for him to know that if there were any new info, it would have been posted.

Posting new threads asking questions about something just clogs up the board, which honestly isn't a big deal right now.  Still pisses people off, though.

Plus, his thread title isn't very informative.  It doesn't specify that it's asking a question.  For all any of us knew, there would be updates here, in this very thread, abou the "Michigan assistant bball search".

Like I said, I didn't neg the OP, but I think that's why people did.

Would people get pissed off for someone curious about more information? How do you know he hasn't been watching the boards, realized nothing updated has come out and wanted to know more?

It is July man. There are threads about Wimbledon (which I made lol), Tour, a freaking question about PC data backup.

WAY too many people on here are sensitive about the holy ground of posting rules. His question is substantially more related to the Michigan concept than the other stuff right now.

"...realized nothing updated has come out and wanted to know more?"

If there was news on that front, someone would post it.  Yes, one thread isn't going to kill anyone.

I don't get jacked up about OT threads in the OT season.  It probably had more to do with the thread title, followed by a question about the topic.  People were probably expecting an update.  After all, the thread title didn't have a question mark.  It must've been a statement, then, right?

He is guilty of a misleading thread title, but I still didn't neg the guy.  I'm just telling you what people get hacked off about.  Because his thread was titled poorly, people probably expected to see an update in the thread.  When they clicked on it, only to find a fucking question, they were probably aggravated and negged him to show their displeasure.  That's just the way the game is played around here, brother.

I read your Wimbledon thread.  I enjoyed it.   Thanks for posting.  I clicked on the thread because I knew exactly what it was about.  I enjoyed the update.

It is the OT season, so threads about Wimbledon and data back ups don't bother me at all.  Thank God the OT season is almost over.

One of the Thomas twins, a former CAC rival (I will NOT say their name. Rhymes with Smeverett)of Saddi's older brother Kareem Washington, a Big Red legend. 517 takeover I love it!
