They all play each other the next few weeks. With 2 undefeateds and 2 1 loss teams though its going to be tough because you could have 1 undefeated and multiple 2 loss teams or a bunch of 1 loss teams.
The one that makes me laugh is ND if they get in, in the end. They wont be playing for a conf championship and yet teams in the B12 got penalized last year for the same thing.
Clemson barring shock is in, and Bama barring disaster is in IMO.
ND is the pimple on everyone's ass if they beat Stanford as they will be 11-1 and not face a tough 13th game. If they beat Stanford they will put them in for ratings meaning 2 conferences get screwed.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:26 PM ^
ND won't get in over an undefeated Big12 team.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:28 PM ^
Of course not. But he's saying that Baylor/TCU were penalized last year as one loss teams for not having a conference title game, and ND will likely be in the same spot if they beat Stanford - 1 loss, no conference title game. And ND will have beaten all of one good team - Stanford.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:32 PM ^
If ND gets in over a comparable 1 loss team from the Big12 or for that matter say 12-1 Utah something is going to have to change. The conferences won't put up with that for long. ND might be good for ratings, but the Power 5 conferences control this thing.
Having said that I still like Baylor's odds to go undefeated.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:38 PM ^
No I am saying they punished B12 last year for not having a championship game to get the 12th win, but they have ND sitting pretty with 1 loss right now and with Tv they will kill to get them in with 1 loss.... and not playing a championship game. You can see the hypocrisy from here.
TL;Dr - go Stanford!
November 10th, 2015 at 8:34 PM ^
Isn't Baylors QB out for the season? I doubt they make it through the rest of the year unscathed.
ND with 1 loss being a close one to the #1 team absolutely deserves to be in.

November 10th, 2015 at 9:04 PM ^
They will be crushed.
November 10th, 2015 at 10:07 PM ^
Baylor and TCU have been penalized for poor SOS. Thats the current knock on the BIG12. If they all lose one game in the Round Robin the next 3 weeks the BIG12 is done.
I think the committee is speaking volumes about SOS.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:28 PM ^
Yep. The only way that will be a disadvantage is if a good team beats a highly ranked team in the last week and ND doesn't have that on their resume. We will see. I hope that turns into a disadvantage for ND and I hope that is Michigan.
November 10th, 2015 at 8:25 PM ^
The big 12 got penalized for having shitty OOC games. The 13th game gave everyone else one more quality win and quality wins was something seriously lacking from Baylor/TCU. Between them they had one halfway decent win and a bunch of patsies. If Baylor had played someone better than Northwestern State, the fact that everyone else played another game against a top team just exacerbated it.
November 10th, 2015 at 8:35 PM ^
The Big 12 also screwed themselves by ignoring tiebreakers and declining to declare their proper conference champion and saying they had co-champs because the lower ranked of the two actually won the conference.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:23 PM ^
Namely: Okie State loses to Baylor and OU, OU goes 2-1 against Baylor, TCU and Okie State, Baylor drops 2 against OU, Okie State, TCU and Texas, and TCU drops one more. All finish 10-2. I don't know if all that is mathematically possible, but I sure as hell hope so!
November 10th, 2015 at 7:30 PM ^
I hope so too. Then just based on that we're probably sitting around 9ish for our matchup against OSU. Win that and anything can happen, especially if the committee views our loss to MSU more favorably since it was a 1 in a billion fluke.

We're gonna want OU to beat Baylor, Baylor to beat Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma State to beat Oklahoma.
Also Florida State to beat Florida and someone else to beat LSU. And if Mississippi State beat Alabama...oh my.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:28 PM ^
And Stanford to beat ND and then get beat in the Pac-12 championship.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:35 PM ^
As long as it's not Utah beating them. Even a 2 loss Utah team would have to be ahead of us.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:50 PM ^
Or another realistic scenario is that Stanford loses to Oregon Saturday, then wins out to take the Pac-12. That would be ideal.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:23 PM ^
If we win out, that means we'd be ahead of Oklahoma, TCU and probably Oklahoma State. And if we beat an undefeatead OSU, that means we'll be ahead of OSU, MSU and Iowa. Based on our current CFP ranking, and not getting leapfrogged, we'd be #8 at worst. Someone has to lose between Stanford and ND also.
It's not inconceivable to finsh #4 if we take care of business.

November 10th, 2015 at 7:36 PM ^
We dont want OU steamrolling people. They have a blue blood brand and could beat Baylor TCU and OK State in final 3 - thhat would be two top 8 wins and #15....2 of them on the road. That would push them past 11-1 ND.
I think Baylor just needs 1 loss but Id rather it be by OK State or TCU. TCU would be best. Baylor is not getting in with 1 loss due to SOS. OU could get in with 1 loss with 3 very big wins to finish out the year.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:42 PM ^
Big 12 is so tricky
- Baylor with 1 loss is out due to SOS
- OSU with 1 loss is out due to SOS
- Oklahoma with 1 loss is probably in at this point (they played TN out of conf and have the brand)
- TCU with 1 loss is difficult to project - they at least went to MN on the road but I'd guess they don't get in
So any loss by Baylor or OK state is good - but you dont want 2 losses by either of those 2 because it means TCU and Oklahoma are winning.
Then Oklahoma needs to drop another game as 1 loss OK is all sorts of dangerous to get to CFP.
And of course none is wanted to run the table.
If OU beats Baylor this weekend I see the committe moving them to 5. Maybe 4. Then they have TCU and OK State still to stuff their resume. They are the danger of that group if they all have 1 losses.

Around 10 if we win our next two games.

I agree! I'm hoping they get upset so that we can be tied at the end of the season, even with (God forbid) a loss to OSU. Then we can leapfrog them like we did to Sparty in 2011.

But just hypothetically, if we lose to OSU and Iowa goes 12-0, then we become at best the 3rd best team in the Big Ten. If Iowa loses once, then again in the BTCG then we are in a 3-way tie with Iowa and MSU for second. That would probably put us in either the Rose or Peach.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:30 PM ^
Agree. That would be an advantage if the B1G champion won't be going to the playoff. I hope Michigan does, but it is still a long shot.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:50 PM ^
We're probably not going to the Rose Bowl at 9-3.

Oh, we all hope OSU crushes MSU. Do not fret, as MSU has a less than 10% chance of winning that game. It makes me sick to cheer for OSU, but since their win over MSU will directly affect UM, we need them to win.
November 10th, 2015 at 7:30 PM ^
The fact that we can be in this discussion after the last few years is incredible! This is way more fun than last year!!

But I hope Sparty makes it a physical, angry game. I think the only reason Sparty beat them in the B1G title game is because they left it all on the field to beat us the week before. And we exposed their defense to be fraudulent as well so Sparty had a lot of game film to use.
November 10th, 2015 at 8:34 PM ^
There were about eight different teams that exposed that OSU defense. The first probably being your boy Rudock and Iowa.
