Never liked him before, but now we can all have a tangible reason to dislike him.

Edit: This was news to me - especially since he said it under his breath and not overtly.

A Northwestern alum doesn't like other B1G teams????!!!!  I never thought I would see the day!!

I've always liked Wilbon and Tony on PTI, and personally, I find his fire for his alma matter and dislike against us admirable.  AND it shows that the basketball team has become relevant again.

I'm from Chicago and like all the same teams he does.  One would think that would be reason to like him, but I find him an overly opinionated asshat that usually has no basis for his hatreds or arguements beyond the bounds of the NBA.

Kornheiser, on the other hand, I find enjoyable.  Coworker's skirt length references and all.

I have absolutely no problem with Wilbon hating UM.   Reasons why:

1. He is now and has always been a hack.  He discredits all Northwestern degrees around the world.

2. If not for Kornheiser, he would just be another one of the plastic-headed dotes on Cold Pizza, First and Ten or whatever mind numbingly awful show ESPN is now rolling out as a filler in the AM time slots.

3. He's an NBA guy.  All NBA guys should only be allowed to talk about the frivolity that is the NBA.

4. He is an egenda guy.  Always promotiong and arguing for what he likes.

5. All in all he's a douche.

mutual and he will hate us even more in the years to come.  I really don't get how these turds interject their personal biases on a national program.  Do they not get that it's all about ratings?  I refuse to watch him and I believe I am not alone.

Let's face it. Pretty much every other B1G school hates us.

I'd rather have good athletic programs and be hated than be the loveable losers that can't make the tourney like Northwestern.

It's a good thing he hates Michigan.  It makes me like him more.  Means he's a Big Ten guy.  He went to Northwestern.  He's supposed to hate Michigan.  It's not like he went to Texas A and M and hates Michigan.  If you went to Northwestern you'd hate us too and I'd expect nothing less.  Look at the history of beat downs we've given them in the past.

My 2 kids and I were walking around the Northwestern campus Saturday and even hung out at the Starbucks in the Student Center.   Each of us was sporting a Michigan hoodie.  No one said boo to us, seemed to notice or care.

Now that the game is past, I'm rooting for NU to win out and get in the tournament.

Nuts to Wilbon; he's a blowhard.  TK, however, is funny.

...isn't he just Charles Barkley's caddy? He used to be a good writer (as did Kornheiser) but just plays up the younger grouchfoil on PTI to Kornheiser's avuncular grouch. Haterz gonna hate, but it gets ridiculous sometimes.

Of course, when he went to NW we were repeatedly thrashing that school to the point of existential doubt, so at least there's an ethos involved.

His main job now is to kiss up to a select group or super stars and badmouth lesser talents.

journalists should not say who they hate or love.   It greatly undermines their credibility.  It's one thing to give your opinion about a team or sport or athlete.  But when you cross the line and say that you love or hate them, it's not being objective any more.  At that point, you've lost the right to be taken seriously as a TV analyst, or sports reporter or whatever Wilbon purports to be.

The pride of Northwestern University, but still not the biggest tool from NU. That distinction goes to Mike Greenburg, or berg. Whatever, he's not important enough for me to commit the correct spelling of his name to memory.

I think Magnus is on to something. It's not just athletic dominance.  If that were the case, he would hate nearly every team in the Big Ten.

But with the others he can look down his nose  and convince himself that at least Northwestern is clearly superior in academics.  He can't do that with Michigan, and it bugs the shit out of him.
