Its weirdly difficult to watch highlights like these. I'm never sure whether I want to be rooting for a big play from the defense of the offense.
Than being said, its EFFING AWESOME to see some full speed highlights.
EDIT: I honestly went from twelve to midnight at the 4:18 mark when Denard pumped T. Gordon out of his cleats. Absolutely Vince Young-esque

Denard looked incredibly patient on a lot of those plays and thats good to see. I liked Mike Shaw truckin teric jones towards the end with all the shit talking too.
Also Hopkins is gonna hurt people this year, as long as he can hold onto the ball.
I didn't care for the shove he gave Shaw, though. I'm all for taking it seriously and showing some enthusiasm but they've gotta remember they're still teammates.
More of a, "That's how you do it!" than a, "Get offa me, punk!" I think he was congratulating him on a hit.

When Mike Shaw scored the touchdown and dropped the ball, he immediately went back to pick it up to hand to the official ... in practice. In. Practice.
Seems to me Rich is drilling that into their heads. No showboating. No stomping around. Just respect.

I've seen both Gardner & Robinson do a little dance after long TD runs in practice videos. Not that it's a bad thing, the kids are just having fun, but I wonder if maybe Shaw did this because the coaches were emphasizing a game-like atmosphere?
from FRIENDS may or may not count as a dance. Ask Gardner.
I know RR has preached to everyone that the ball goes right to the ref after a play. Watch the ND game highlights for the winning TD and the ball went right to the ref.
It shows a level of respect to the refs and helps deter show-boating, but on non-TD plays it helps the ref set up faster to get the next play off. I'm not sure which part is more important...

Silverlight is actually really well done. A former co-worker went on to work at Move Networks and he did a lot of coding work with Silverlight and loved it.

Isn't the Silverlight player what causes the browser crippling? If so, that doesn't seem like such a "well done" product.
I've found that Silverlight screws up my browser less than Flash does.
I can only vouch for my personal anecdotal evidence, but I've never had an issue with Silverlight causing issues with any browser i've used it with (Mostly FF with a little hacked opera on both OS X and Windows).

Molk staying healthy will be key to this offense, but hopefully Khoury can improve his consistency. Can't afford a potential Molk injury to submarine the season like last year.
but how hard is it to snap the ball shotgun?
seems like you aim for between the qb's knees and shoulders and shoot it out there.
It's the 300+lb DT that's about to hit you in the face the second you move that makes it a bit difficult.
let's hope our boy Molk makes it through the whole season.

Other than the mis-handled hand off he looked real good for a freshman and was not afraid to lower the shoulder on a defender.
I also noticed that, Hopkins is going to be a beast on short yardage situations. Also noticed Toussaint making some nice plays as well, as well as Shaw. I really, really like our RB Corps this year. I was most excited to hear that defense was doing fairly well against what should be an extremely potent offense.
I really liked the Toussaint run at the 5:40 mark of the video. With the ball covering up the number on his jersey so I couldn't tell if it was 28 or 20, it seemed like a certain running back from three years ago.
Hopefully we make it through the year without any repeats of the 4th & out from the 1 vs Illinois...

It definitely looks like the QB position is going to be greatly improved over the last two seasons. We may finally see the offense that RR has intended us to see all along. Whenever Denard and/or DG do see the field, it will be great to see the elusive, defense-killer QB wearing the maize and blue instead of the other team's uni.
2008 - we had no QBs
2009 - we had 1.5 QBs
2010 - we have 3 legit QBs
I think I'm developing a man crush for DG.

of the video was awesome, his acceleration as he went from zero to beyond the line of scrimmage was impressive. I hope Tate and Denard have the system down enough so he redshirts and we can have him for as possible; he looks to be the total package.
He looked a bit stiff while running, and so did some of the other guys. I'm wondering if Barwis ran them through the leg workout gauntlet last week.
2009 = .8 + .7 = 1.5, Tate was, and played like a freshman, so i wouldn't count him as a complete 1 ;)
Maybe more like .8 + .4 for a 1.2 total?

That weighs pretty heavily on the awesome side of the scale.
I was way more excited about Tate directing traffic on roll-outs at the beginning of last year. By the end of the season, it became apparent that rolling out was the primary thing he was comfortable with - he struggled like hell with the zone read and with playing from the pocket. I'll be much more excited when he looks better doing those things. Then the roll-outs will be deadly.
The run near the end of the tape from Shaw was pretty spectacular. He has a level of explosiveness that no one else on offense has, except for Denard. If he can stay healthy, and we can change speeds productively with Hopkins and/or Cox, he'll be huge next year.
On the one catch I saw him make, Jeremy Gallon seemed to have an extra gear as well. Also, Stonum is a beast when he gets the ball in his hands. (See: Notre Dame & MSU)
