MGoBlue announces Signing Day shows

Crazy how big of a production this is now. There used to just be a press conference.

Now there's a whole day of stuff. Pre-show, post-show, presser mixed WTKA's double-digit hour coverage.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- MGoBlue.com, the official website of the University of Michigan Athletic Department, will provide exclusive coverage of National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 4, with two Inside Michigan Football Signing Day shows emanating live from Schembechler Hall. U-M will produce a live two-hour Signing Day Special Webcast from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. ET, and will also air a one-hour Signing Day Wrap-up Show starting at 3 p.m.

The Inside Michigan Football Signing Day Special, powered by XFINITY, will be hosted by Michigan Athletics reporter Ed Kengerski and former Wolverine tight end Derrick Walker and will be streamed free of charge on MGoBlue.com. The IMF Signing Day Wrap-up will be hosted by Kengerski and Michigan football radio sideline reporter Doug Karsch.

Both shows will include behind-the-scenes access, video-highlight packages and biographical information on U-M's 2015 signees as well as interviews with select Michigan players and coaches. For additional coverage as National Letters of Intent are received, Kengerski will provide live updates every 30 minutes at the top and bottom of the hour until 2 p.m.

Also on Wednesday, Michigan J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Head Football Coach Jim Harbaugh will hold a 2 p.m. press conference to discuss the newest additions to the Wolverine football program. MGoBlue.com will stream the press conference live, and an archive will be available shortly after the event.

In addition to MGoBlue.com, fans can follow Signing Day updates through the Michigan Football official Twitter account (@umichfootball), Facebook page (facebook.com/michiganfball), Instagram account (@umichathletics) and Snapchat account (umichathletics) and join the Signing Day conversation by using hashtag #UMSigningDay. Fans also can text SIGN to 54815 to receive official up-to-the-minute Signing Day mobile alerts. Message and data rates may apply.

The Towsley Family Museum will be closed to the public on Signing Day (Wednesday, Feb. 4).

In the early 1960s, your grandparents weren't watching Dick Clark's American Bandstand or Shindig or Hullabaloo. They watched this.

Scroll through the video and look for a familar face (for those of us Medicare Age MGoParents) at about 2:53 . . . and for those who grew up on Sesame Street, there's another recognizable appearance at 6:46 . . . and at 8:56, there's a message for Detroit Red Wings fans.

They should really have it at Crisler Center with a fax machine in center court... Stands full of students and fans, with cheerleaders and marching bands... all waiting for the printing of the fax machine...

You know what would happen, of course. Somewhere in the middle of the letters coming in, someone would pull a fax off the machine and read dramatically, "Jamaica for as low as $99 per adult per night for four nights. Call (800)-213-4567 for more information on this incredible offer......oh......*sound of crinkling paper*"

Clark and Weber would be amazing.... Iman Marshall would make everyone a believer that we're going to have a great season immediately regardless of who we play at QB.

I will be freeballing in pleated khakis with my "Those who stay will be champions" good luck shirt.

I will also not be following the live feed but I will be getting text updates from MGoBlue. I signed up for it last year and they sent me a text reminder just 20 minutes ago.

I don't do the twitter thing (get off my lawn!) so I can't follow mgoblog twitter feed.

... The hype, the pomp and circumstance, the flash, it's all very exciting. It's great that Michigan is embracing the importance of National Signing Day. It just goes to show what a big deal football is around here.

I think February 4th will be a great day for us. I think we land two of Chris Clark, mike weber, or iman Marshall. I really think the youth, nfl experience, intensity, and extreme work ethic will pay huge dividends for us through the entire Harbaugh era.

I don't think I'll be tuning in for the full SIGNING DAY EXPERIENCE (which would have been totally sponsored by someone if Brandon were still around -- "Five Energy Signing Day Experience at the University of Michigan sponsored by Chobani presents the BW3s Recruitment Chevy Express with Free Text Messaging from AT&T"), however I do love getting those LOI texts throughout the day.
