Meta: Everyone has zero points?

Submitted by BornInA2 on

Seems that the hamsters spinning the wheel got hungry and ate everyone's points? All show zero at the moment...

Brain ate them.  His brain is now much bigger than ours:

Here's a diagram of what's inside his brain after devouring ours (note the enlarged areas attributed to porn):

As a result of Brain's newfound additction to porn, MGoBlog will now have 2 new features:  pictures on the front page of nearly-naked women and links to all our favorite porn sites.

Magnus should be worried.

Maybe he decided we could evolve past the need for "points."  While I can be a bit pissy when I see what I think is an inappropriate thread, I feel that the community and mods are perfectly capable of continuing to maintian a high standard here without points.

If we really need a poster rating system, we could always use what colleges use and base it on how long we've been here, the number of posts we've made, or both: freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, grad.

Besides, the #1 rule of MGoPoints is, "MGoPoints don't matter."  They were sorta superfluous after someone passed the posting new threads threshold.

For me, it's always been fun and the content is free.  If I need something from Amazon, I use the permalink at the top of the page.  It's all good, whether we ever go back to a points system or not.

without points we will not be able to quickly and efficiently identify the "new guy" and will not be able to pan his posts(however well informed and intentioned they may be) in mob-like fashon.  This is very troubling to me.
