"Meltdown Expected": Freep Wins "Journalism" Awards for Jihad

Submitted by MGoShoe on
Well don't this beat all. The Freep (print link) has won several 2009 Michigan AP Editorial Association first-place writing awards (large newspaper division) including:
• Michael Rosenberg, Mark Snyder, Jim Schaefer and Shawn Windsor for the sustained coverage of a single sports event for "Investigating Michigan football." • Michael Rosenberg and Mark Snyder in sports enterprise for "U-M football broke rules."
Commence [legitimate] meltdown in 3, 2, 1... [Edit 1: No need to click on the link -- I've done the dirty work so you don't have to. There's really no other relevant information available there unless you're interested in their awards for feature writing and covering Detroit corruption scandals.] [Edit 2: Pultizer Prizes were announced on 12 April, and no, the Freep did not receive one nor were they a nominee in any category. This is still a local meltdown, not a national one.]
