Meet the WLA. We'd like to have a word with you...
Hey all! As you may or may not be aware, the honorable Keegan the Montanan Assassin will be attending his first game at the Big House this weekend. After a tour of the campus on Friday afternoon we'll be stopping by Grizzly Peak Brewing Company for Happy Hour along with a plethora of fellow M fans. I'd like to take this opportuinty to invite anyone who is so inclined to join us for a beverage of your choosing. We'll be in the bar about 6, and plan on hanging out for a few hours and having dinner thereafter. Ask the hostesses to point out the "Tacopants" party, and she'll be able to direct you our way. Please leave a note here if you plan on attending so I can get a good idea of the number of seats we might need.
Hope to see as many of you there as possible. Come mingle and talk shop in real life, we promise we don't bite.*
*Promise valid 20-35% of the time.

I'm going to be watching the game at Tommy Doyle's in Harvard Sq. The Place is better, but Tommy D's is where I'm going. Not that either one of us will have any way of finding each other. Oh yeah, I'll be the guy in the Michigan shirt.

I've never watched a game at Tommy D's. Is it any good there?
September 3rd, 2008 at 2:50 PM ^
I just live closer to it. I've been to The Place once and it was great; it's supposed to be the better bar. There is also a third place called Tavern-something in Porter Sq. I've heard so-so things about Tommy D's, but I'll see for myself this Saturday.

Which is exactly why we didn't plan it for Bahhstunn.

Would come (good god is Grizzly Peak amazing), but have other obligations.

I'm sure that Ninja and myself will also be tailgating Saturday before the game. Let us know you're in the WLA by tatooing it to your face. Or just look for the Rube that appears to be completely lost by SO MANY PEOPLE IN ONE PLACE!

6 p.m. is a bit late for happy hour for me, especially on that side of town, but campus is totally doable.
September 3rd, 2008 at 7:27 AM ^
if you could please get tacopants so drunk before the game he doesn't show up, i would appreciate it. if you could allow him to get pulled over in his imaginary car for DUI while blowing a .85 so he is suspended for the rest of the season... that would help too.

OC,
email me: buon111 at gmail and we can make arrangements to grab a beer beforehand. We'll be around most of the day, so whatever works is good with us.

We don't bite, but I will bring a cudgel.
September 3rd, 2008 at 9:36 AM ^
GSimms I'll be around for the Wisconsin game- you know where to find us once you make plans.
September 3rd, 2008 at 10:07 AM ^
I'm in Boston as well, but you guys should wear "Hello, my name is" name tags with your handles on them. Or not, because that would be really fucking lame, losers. Have fun with your nerdy internet party!!
Yeah, I'm probably just jealous. Have fun, and get the fish 'n chips wtih one of the home brews. It's heavenly.
September 3rd, 2008 at 12:09 PM ^
I will buy a zima and a bag of Jolly Ranchers so that all will know that it is the WLA.
September 3rd, 2008 at 12:15 PM ^
A Zima at Grizzly Peak? Awesome. That will definately stick out. I'll try to stop by if my flight is on time (4:30), but knowing DCA and DTW, it's probably doomed.
September 3rd, 2008 at 1:33 PM ^
Oh Grizzly Peak has good beer samplers. My roommate and I will be in AA from LA this weekend, we might stop by GP. I'd love to meet the WLA in the flesh.
September 3rd, 2008 at 1:43 PM ^
a lot of flesh to meet. We have a combined weight of 9 tons.
September 3rd, 2008 at 7:41 PM ^
Large army = scrawny.
September 3rd, 2008 at 6:19 PM ^
Joe I've got a table reserved for 8 at 7:30, can't imagine we'll be out of there until after 9- so you should be able to make it.

OC, are we grabbing a beer tomorrow campus side?
September 5th, 2008 at 3:27 PM ^
I give them my seal of approval. Of course, who am I, anyway?
Fear them as you would members of any Liberation Army, but not as scary creepy guys to avoid at all costs.
