McGary impressive in first game

Submitted by True Blue Grit on

Mitch McGary had an impressive first game for Brewster, scoring 17 points and grabbing 17 boards. Rivals posted the highlight video:

Interesting they list him now at 257 lbs. and he looks it in the video.  But, he looks very active and athletic.  Also looks like he has some pretty good teammates too.

if Michigan played McGary's prep  team, I'm not sure Michigan would be favored.  In addition to McGary, they have consensus 5 star TJ Warren, top 50-ish player Jakarr Sampson, top-100 player Aaron Thomas, and top-100 player Semaj Christon.

Their frickin prep team would be the #1 recruiting class in the country.

My high school team (this is a public school in baltimore mind you not a prep schoo) had twins that went on to be number 5 and 70 in the class and went to memphis (they transfered after failing out) C.j fair who went on to be a top 50 guy, a guy at xavier and nick faust a top 30 guy who is at md now, we finished third in the city behind teams with the number 3 and 6 recruits in the country, it was a crazy year.

It would be jordan, I went to city, also to clarify the twins where the barton brothers and they failed out of city not memphis they still there and it will be cool to see them in maui.  Also the coach is the former coach of carmelo anthony, not surprisingly we won 2 state titles in a row

McGary looks like a 6-10 version of Zack Novak.  I think both he and JaKarr Sampson benefitted greatly from an extra year to grow into their bodies.  They are both large guys with the coordination of small guys.
