Games played in November and December play a huge role in getting into the tournament(s) and associated seeding.  These subsequently play a huge role in determining if we win a championship or make a tournament run.  Why are you discounting November and December games?

My organized basketball career ended in the 5th grade so correct me if I'm missing something, but it looked like from the last 2 minutes of the first half through the first 8-10 minutes of the 2nd Diop-Tate was driving more or less at will, scoring or drawing fouls.  We finally went into a zone that seemed to keep them from driving into paint.  My question  is what took so long to change up the defense -- at one point they were on a 20-0 run.  In the last 10 minutes our defense was actually decent (it may have partially them getting colder) with our offense holding up back, but I wonder if we'd changed things up earlier if we could have held on.

The formula for beating this Michigan team is simple. Set screens until you get your best player isolated on Duncan and then take him to the hole. Attack Mo in the paint because he is terrified of committing fouls and being taken out of the game. Defend the three point line and challenge the drive when the clock runs down and we go to hero-ball mode. Let Z shoot.

I'm not saying fire Beilein that's going to far but losing the second half 41-18 stinks worse than the devil's asshole. That was the worst half of basketball I've ever seen under Beilein, garbage garbage garbage garbage rotten garbage.

5-29 from the field in the second half. Astonishingly abhorrent. When in a slump like that you have to bring more energy on defense, create turnovers to get easy fast break opportunities. Get aggressive and get to the free throw line. I felt like our guys mailed it in at half and that’s what’s most disheartening. Effort and determination doesn’t require skill. Wish coach B was a better motivator.

The other thing you can do is play a PG who can distribute the ball well and get guys good looks. Jaaron had 3 assists in 7 minutes in the first half. He played 0 minutes in the 2nd half. Meanwhile, Z had 0 assists in 14 2nd half minutes. I wish I could understand Beilein's thinking there, or could see what he sees in practice, because I've watched a fair number of games this season and I don't see what Z brings to the table offensively (or defensively, for that matter. 1-2 steals per game doesn't offset his other defensive deficiencies.)

That was the worst half of basketball that I have ever witnessed.

You can blame Beilein all you want for in game coaching, but the talent level on this team is piss poor.

I've never seen so many players on the floor not wanting to take an open shot.

And for those of you hoping Charles Matthews is the savior, he's not.

The roster is littered with too many players that aren't really legitimate D1 players.  Wagner & Matthews are - but both have sizable limitations.

There is not one player on this team that has a complete game.

Wow, was that bad.

we found out last night why he couldn't get PT at Kentucky. He has skills, but he needs to let the game come to him. He was either forcing things or not getting involved at all.

The problem with Beilein's offense is that they run their sets regardless of the defense. There is no way to exploit mismatches. I saw Mo being guarded by a little guard and they couldn't work the ball into him. OSU did not have a lot of size, but our offense is not designed for clear-outs to take advantage of mismatches.

We suffer from an insitutional 'lack of giving a shit'. Call it arrogance, if you will. I don't mind arrogance if you can back it up, but our athletic teams have no room to talk. None. Harbaugh included.

Trust me, MSU/OSU get a kick out of beating us. There are certain individuals whose performance is lacking among multiple athletic teams. It's up to the players/coaches to work with these individuals to make them stronger. Teams are only as strong as their weakest links.

These teams need to crush their enemies. Hear their lamentation. This is the mindset the coaches need to instill in these athletes. Building character is training harder than your oponnent, doing things the right way (not cheating), and executing under pressure. That's character development. It's that simple. We have the insitutional profile to recruit athletes with fire, but the fire in the teams I've watched the last year is lacking. They have the talent, they need the fire.
