I gotta say it, take this comment and see if the Salvation Army wants to auction it off with any remainder RR clothing items.  RR worked hard, but he's gone.  He's the past.

We now have a OC who was undefeated in the SEC, an even more accomplished DC who won a NC at Florida, and a new HC who turned two programs around.

Welcome to the future.  Go Blue!

Mattison's first priority should be to contact Blake Countess and lock him up. Second is to convince Frost to play LB and switch to Michigan. Then go down to Florida and snag a DL.

The best recruiting pitch that Mattison has is I left Lewis,Suggs, and Reed for the chance to coach you. When should I expect your verbal?

The Baltimore radio stations are reporting it as official.

I was just wondering if there were specific recruits that this might impact.  Maybe Jernigan would consider us strongly again.  We might not be using a 3-3-5.  Will this give us more of a chance with Frost.  I was just wondering if there were any specific highly ranked recruits that might we might be able to get now that we made this hire.

I'd hold off on the no 3-3-5 defense until you read the Ravens Fire Mattison scout thread. Aparently he's prone to only rushing three defenders.

Seriously though I think this is going to have a greater effect on next years class, I think Jernigan is Florida's and with Auburn's newly instated 100 schollies Frost has a spot there.

I'm waiting for someone to say this actually happened. I won't do my celebratory shot until an announcement is made... I will however continue my standard (heavy) scotch consumption until this is done and we've had our successful NSD.

To go from coaching the likes Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, and Terell Suggs to coaching that defense we had out there last year....Not saying he can't turn it around immediately but it will be tough. I am trying to be an optimist and a realist at the same time. I think he can have great success.
