Here is your thread for hot takes and snowflakes regarding the offense and offensive playcalling.

Other than 3 points on the first two drives I don’t think there can be a whole lot of complaining other than nitpicking.

Oh, and Sparty is on full melt down about firing their OC.

I'm loving how elusive Shea is. His escapability is a huge weapon under pressure and will hopefully serve the team well against a tough Wisconsin D!

i have been quick to criticize the offense, but i think there were some pretty good things today.

the start was a bit slow, but i thought the offense was really varied and had some clever play designs and calls.

will have to rewatch it a bit more carefully on replay, but Michigan moved away from vanilla play calling, even breaking out some trick plays... so i guess they weren't interested in saving them for a better opponent...

Shea showing what he could be... i'll be interested to see if he might decide to stay another year with his brother joining the team next year... if not, i think DMC has looked very good in the opportunities he's had, so not terribly worried if DMC is the starter

A big FU (and you can check what I wrote last week about staying the course) to folks talking about lack of creativity on offense.

What we need is continuity and offense will kick ass. Continue with same coaches and improve Oline and WRs. We are seeing it. Evans and black come back and we can move into to 20/15 offense in the nation. Paired with this D , it's exciting.

Oline got amazing push , higdon ran for 3 yards for sure behind line.

Very happy.

to be fair, people would not have been criticizing the offense, if this had been the offense in the previous games...

there were a number of playcalls that simply were not there in the first games, and the UFR will bear that out.

the UFR on NW game pointed out issues that many posters had been talking about.

Oh so suddenly coaches are great now calling your arm chair QB plays to a T. Got it. They sucked just a few days ago and just now installed all the creative plays.

How about this: many posters aren't coaches. Other teams are good too (NW is no pushover...ask Mork MSU if not busy couch burning ) and usually hot takes reign supreme rather than leveled approach to team play/development (I want Shea to throw 500 against ND first game in this system - come on there easy...do it! If not, fire harbaugh !)

I’m to the point where I’m feeling pretty comfortable about the base line on offense. What I still don’t know is whether they can make those handful of plays that win games when they’re absolutely necessary against Wisconsin, MSU, PSU and OSU. That’s what’s been lacking and that’s what will determine this season.

This was enjoyable. Perry throws a pass! Bench destroys some people while carrying the ball for a TD. Shea does a solid job moving and making good throws. And our receiving corps including Gentry and Bell worked hard and made plays. Go Blue!

I guess I watched a different game than everyone else. I saw yet another slow start...which is going to bite us in the ass in a couple weeks, and our top two receivers combine for 2 catches.

This offense needs to start clicking or we’re going to be in for another long season.

So....being there live in my eyes the OL while not dominating looks like they are all on the same page which will mitigate the couple weak spots.

Warriner is a huge upgrade in terms of getting everyone doing the same thing and that alone is probably worth a TD a game.

I loved the enthusiasm shown by the Michigan starters when Wangler caught his TD pass late in the game. Patterson celebrated with one of the lineman with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind when they saw Wangler's catch signalled as a TD and several other Michigan players on the field and along the sidelines were very pumped up to see a 5th year senior get his first collegiate TD. It was great to see the team recognize how important every single player is during the season and celebrate a lesser-used player's success.
