Marvin Robinson

Submitted by CheckOutMyRod on
I hear Marvin is 6-2,210lbs and runs a 4.4. I've read where alot of people think he will move to lb when he gets to Michigan. My question is with our bad saftey play shouldnt he just stay at saftey?? I know he will add some weight but it just seems to me to leave him at saftey atleast for next season. Just wondering what everyones feels on here are about it.

he runs a legit 4.6 40 so he is a bit slow to be safety and recruits usually gain about 10-20 pounds when they get to college so he will be 230, thats a linebacker. I wish he would stay at safety but it just isnt gonna happen.

All signs (including him) point to him playing the SAM linebacker position. We're still in on a number of safeties/potential safeties, so don't worry too much about him not being there.

I thought I heard or read he ran a 4.4,i was wrong. Thanks for the news,I guess I just had dreams of Taylor Mays roaming our sidelines for once. If he can keep that speed and add another 30lbs he should make a pretty good lb then and we still need some of those!

Whatever the internets say is wrong when it comes to recruiting profiles. All of these top recruits run 4.4's and you look at the NFL combine and the absolute fastest player ran a 4.30 (Heyward-Bay I believe). When I read 4.4 for a high school player, nine times out of 10, I interpret it as 4.6. Just my thoughts.

is one of the most physically gifted players to ever play safety*. MRob looks like a heck of an athlete, but he isn't Mays. *Actually given Mays' ridiculous athleticism/physique, he kinda dissapoints especially when compared to Eric Berry

Is it wrong of me to expect MRob to come in and compete for the starting SAM position? He seems to be a perfect fit for it and who knows, maybe he'll know how to cover a TE.

If he's been told he'll be a hybrid player, then he'll really be the weak side safety, a la Kovacs/Williams playing both a deep safety and also in the box. Stevie Brown is *not* a hybrid player. He is an outside LB. At no point has he played a safety. So perhaps we might get him coming off the backside edge unblocked into the backfield game after game. Juicy, eh?
