Mark May and Lou Holtz say RR should not go

Submitted by pullin4blue on

I don't know if many others caught the pregame show on ESPN where they discussed coaches on the hot seat, Both Mark May and Lou Holtz said that RR should NOT be on the hot seat. Mark May did not mince words and said that Greg Robinson should be fired at the end of the season. This is one of the first times I actually agreed with what they had to say.

I don't know what happened, but this season, I agree with Mark May about 80% of the time.  I unfortunately agree that some changes need to be made on the defensive side of the ball.

I know this is similar to rtyler's earlier post that talked of Sports Center and Mark May, but here, the old goat himself, Lou Holtz agrees with May. No one can discount the drastic change in Michigan's offense and where that can be in another year or two. We just need our defense to mature.

Lou's lone brain cell has been working on that solitary rational thought for several months. We'll have to wait until next July for the next one.

I'm going to return to reading a Chengalis puff piece.  Whether I agree with it or not, it's kinda hard to place any credibility in DOCTOR Lou when the clown has left a trail of NCAA investigations at every single stop he made.

Isn't it possible that the growing consensus that Rich Rod is safe will help recruiting? But, if you disagree then obviously threads like this are pretty easy to ignore when they are appropriately titled (as this one is).

The media always insists that programs hang onto bad coaches.  There are no exceptions to this rule.  Bob Davie, Tyrone Willingham, Mike Dubose, Ron Zook at Florida.  The airwaves were filled with commentators insisting that they were great coaches.  Rodriguez is no exception.  May at least insists that GERG has to go.  But who does he think hired Gerg after firing DC#1 two years ago?  Who was it that brought on Tony Gibson and then gave him control of special teams?  Who was it that fired Jay Hopson last year?  Is it the same idiot that needlessly burned Devin Gardner's redshirt?  That's the guy who has to go.

They most likely do not understand that our head coach, while spending little time on the defensive side of the ball, nevertheless insists that his DCs use one particular scheme and work with position coaches that are his personal friends - and has a habit of dictating disastrous midseason changes.

Since I never agree with those guys, and they are so often wrong (hell, with them agreeing it is pretty much guaranteed they will be incorrect), I will take comfort in this.
